Check if it has any vacumn leaks.U can use water in plastic coke bottle.Just poor over all vacum areas revs drop down when water is sucked in thers your leak.
do they revs drop off when taking pressure off accelerator pedal when out of gear? if only staying high during gear change it would suggest a worn clutch friction/pressure plate so the engine isn't slowing down when clutch is depressed .I'd also have the OBD codes read to see if there is a sensor/switch at fault , but sounds like the clutch to me
it may require a ECM upgrade in the software
in the mean time restrict the rpms between gear changes
for example accelerate in first ti around 3000 rpms and slow down the selection and keep the rest of the changes around the 2500-3000 rpm range
naturally , the harder yo rev it the longer it will take for the rpms to drop
just as a point of interest how did you get a brand new car that is 4 years old ?
Note:
This process must be carried out in normal mode (not sports mode). On a
flat road, the transmission fluid temperature must be above 60° C (140°
f) and below 100° C (212° f) (vehicle at normal operating temperature
will ensure that the transmission fluid temperature is above 60° C (140°
f)).
9. Accelerate from rest with
light throttle (do not exceed the upper rev limit in appendix 1). 1-2,
2-3, 3-4 shifts must occur with engine speed between the following
limits:. Note: Do not move the accelerator pedal during shifts.
10. Continue to accelerate gently to 50 mph (80 km/h) so that transmission shifts into 5th gear.
11. Go into overrun and let the transmission shift down into 4th gear without braking.
12. Brake gently to a standstill and hold footbrake on for at least 15 seconds.
13. This process should be carried out at least five times.

You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.
This is a common problem. You have a cracked forward clutch piston. Ford made this part out of aluminum. The replacements are steel. But you have to disassemble the transmission to install it. ( I know you said Rev too, In the AXODE trans, the forward clutch is on in 1st and reverse)
Try changing your idle control valve or stepper motor which is the same thing.try cleaning it first before buying a new one, this could be done with caburetter cleaner, let dry before replacing, hope this is helping ty.
