This can occur if there is a blockage in the heater rad, or the blend door actuator that regulates air temperature into the cabin is malfunctioning, or the cooling system thermostat is malfunctioning. You can check by carefully feeling both heater hoses under the hood after the car has been run for a while - if one is hot and the other is cold, it's a blockage. If both are cold, check the thermostat. If both are relatively hot, it's usually the actuator.
blower motor not working
bad and leaking heater coil
stuck thermostat open
stuck servos that control air flow
bad climate control sensors and switches
Take your choice. Give me more information..make model year of vehicle. Does the blower work? When does it malfunction? If the malfunction airflow related, heat related, etc.
First off who ever said $400 to change a thermostat is trying to rip you off. The actual part is like $20 bucks max and its so easy to change. I can guide you through it if you would like.
The P0128 code is Coolant Thermostat Malfunction.
These are the possible causes for this code: - Insufficient warm up time. - Low engine coolant level. - Leaking or stuck open thermostat. - Malfunctioning engine coolant temperature sensor.
These are the possible quick fixes: - Top OFF Engine Coolant - Replaced Thermostat
There are a few things that cause overheating. Here is a list of the
most common causes:
1. Stuck thermostat
2. Inadequate amount of coolant
3. Malfunctioning engine coolant temperature sensor (near the
thermostat)
4. Malfunctioning coolant thermosensor (attached to the radiator)
5. Malfunctioning water pump
6. Malfunctioning radiator fan
7. Inadequate amount of engine oil
8. Clogged or damaged radiator
Where is the clicking noise coming from, the engine compartment or the dash panel? Probably not the heat selector switch, so I'm willing to bet the thermostat is sticking and not opening, which is lesding to you not having heat and the clicking noise you are hearing. Replace the thermostat.
I'm assuming you mean heat not hot enough. Possible causes are low coolant, malfunctioning thermostat, cooling fans staying on, or malfunctioning heat blend door. I hope this helps.
Yes, if the fan clutch is bad, the car may overheat, especially when going uphill, check for a replacement or repair the esisting one filling it back with new silicona.
