Check your car setup. Read the manual on MAXI DOT and look for Main Menu > Settings > Comfort > Central Locking. Within the Comfort menu you can also reset to factory which should set central locking to automatic.
I hope this helps.
The nut should be a conical locking style nut. 90 foot pounds is normal torque setting if it is a non self lock nut. Locking nuts are installed till fully seated
Hello, with this body style, we have found this a lot. If the rear shoes are not adjusted really close, and I mean close, we have many issues the same as you are having. ABS is coming on, because rear wheels are locking up. You didnt mention if you cut the drums. A course cut will also cause this condition. We now set the brake drag so it turns 1 revolution after you spin the tire on the hoist. Hope this helps you get this repaired.

Our '97 Jetta locking is similar. One back door does not go down with the driver's door key double turn. We push it down manually before locking the rest with the key. I believe electrical lock actuator is gone on that door. Down the repair list. I have had door panels off on the car fixing electric window regulator. There is quite an expensive plastic sheet glued on to inside of door for sound proofing. Real hard not to tear. I bought new one from the dealer. Also little plastic clips around the door panel perimeter were brittle and about 50% broke, but not so expensive.
