Question about 1994 Ford Taurus
Does putting heater on hot prduce hot air.on full with fan on does it reduce temo?is ur radiator fan coming on? hard to give one answer.as dont know if its overheating in traffic or on the move?there could be air stuck in pipes slowing water flow.or a pipe/radiator blockage so coolant doesnt get to flow around engine so it gets hot.u could check radiator by touching see if hot or cold where pipes enter(prob switch off engine first) try bleeding system squeesing pipes to push air out

Check the radiator and all the components like the thermostat and sensors that attach to it.

a few other things you can look for,#1 make sure your two fans are operating and the temperature control switch (check a manual for its location) is working, 15 dollars, it tells the p.c.m. the engine needs to get cool! the fans sometimes don't come on when we wait for them, they also have their Owen relays, most are found under the fans, make sure they are o.k, they catch a lot off the element's, hope this helps and good luck to u..

the thermostat can be easily changed from up top, the T-stat is located at the engine end of the upper radiator hose under the flange the hose connects to. Make sure u follow manufacturer's cooling system bleeding procedures when you refill after the T-stat is changed out.

Make sure the thermostat is good. The water pump impeller is made of nylon or plastic on many of these engines and can brake inside the pump without giving the indication of a leak at the pump gasket or bearing. It happened to my girlfriends 97 taurus V6 DOHV. The engine was overheating and there was no heat coming from the blower when switched to hot air. This indicated that there was no coolant circulation. The mechanic replaced the bad water pump and thermostat and it has been fine since. Hope this helps. God bless
