We are talking keyless entrey system here .
Try this first take the keyless apart like you had replace the batterys in it .
You will see spring like contacts that touch the batterys gently bend them so they make better contact with the batterys
This might be a good time to replace the batterys aswell
These contacts tend to corriod then you need to pusher harder to make it work then the contacts tend to bend so pretty soon nothing work .
It takes a lot of AMPS or power to move the motors that lock and unlock the doors .This comes from the vehicle battery now the 2 little batterys in the hand held device .It work on a radio signail and can't damage anything in the system .
Bad contacts will make it not work .

Blown fuses indicate a short either in the wiring or in the module.

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

Panic switch

The alarm is armed if keyfob is used. So you must use the fob to disarm alarm first. So someone can not unlock and open door without keyfob or alarm will be set off.

The key fob sometimes does not lock or unlock car doors. i have had a new battery fitted.but still not working properly.

Hello,
Most of the keyfobs have instrctions on the back, or on the inside cover on how to change the battery in the keyfob and then reactivate.
If you can't find the instructions, you can try the following.

From outside of the vehicle, with all of the doors closed, push the unlock button, then the lock button, then the unlock button, then the lock button.
If that doesn't work;
Those keys/key pads, are highly sensitive to interfearence from other remotes, such as other keys with chips, garage door openers, etc., try to make sure that no other electronic products are near your keyfob.

I hope this helps you.
