  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the right side wheel and tire assembly.
  3. Remove the right inner splash shield.
  4. Remove the accessory drive belts.
  5. Break the crankshaft damper bolt loose, but do not remove it.

I need a diagram for a 2008 dodge avenger drive belt 2.4L 4cylinder

the belt routing should be under the hood or on the upper rad support.some of these are on the timing cover in the form of a placard.if it is missing then draw the routing of the belt before you remove it making sure you draw all the pullys and how the belt goes around them.or you can get the routing from the parts store you bought the belt from.or the library has books that will show it for your car and motor

How to replace crank position sensor? Where is it located on a 1996 acura integra v6 non v tech?

It is located behind the large crankshaft/harmonic dampner or pully on the belt drive end of the engine. You have to find it, clean the area of dirt and grease, then see if you have access to the mounting screw. If not you have to remove the pully.

Ho0w do you replace the power steering belt on 1996 dodge avenger

there should be a tension idler that has to be retracted to give the belt slack most has a 1/2 inch square hole in it for a break over bar to fit in it to realese tension however i have not delt with this particular model but most are the same also be sure to carefully look at how the belt pattern is or if it still has the sticker for belt routing on it realese the tension and slip belt off first pully making sure not to put yoru finger between the belt and the pully after the first pully has been cleared the the tensioner can be released and the belt removed then put new belt on all pullys but one at this point tensioner bust be realesed again ultill belt is plased on last pully be suer belt is inline with all pullys

How do i take off an alternator on a 96 dodge avenger

GET YOURSELF A LONG 15MM RENCH AND LOSEN THE TOP BOLT OF THE ALTERNATOR YOU CAN SEE IT RIGHT BEHIND THE TIMEING BELT COVER.
NOW JACK UP THE CAR , REMOVE THE TIRE AND CRAWL UNDERNEATH . LOOSEN UP THE BOLT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ALTERNATOR.
ON THE BACK PART OF THE TOP ALTERNATOR BRACKET IS A TENSIONING BOLT, AND IF DODGE HASNT CHANGED THE SIZE ITS A 13MM. YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR ARM BACK HEHIND THERE AND WITH A 13MM ON A RATCHET WRENCH LOSEN THE TENSIONER UNTIL YOU CAN PUSH THE ALTERNATOR FORWARD ENOUGH TO GET THE BELT OFF OF THE CRANK SHAFT PULLY.
REPLACE THE SAME WAY YOU TOOK IT OFF.

I have a 2.3 how do i install the timing belt

Align harmonic damper mark at TDC with #1 piston at top. You'll have to remove harmonic damper on front of crank. (You can do it without removing the damper, but it's a real pain in the rear.) This WILL require an industrial strength impact wrench to break the bolt loose. Pull spark plugs. Makes last step easy and you can use a screwdriver to make sure #1 is at top. You'll see tick marks on the crank pulley, the cam pulley and the auxillary shaft pulley. These marks must line up. Use a straight edge (ruler, piece of flat metal stock, etc.) to make sure they're aligned. Pull tensioner arm back and lock it there. Install belt around pullies. Now comes the tricky part. Whne you release the tensioner, the auxillary shaft will rotate at least one tooth off of alignment. Release tension and compensate auxillary shaft postion. You want the marks aligned with the belt under tension. Now using a long wrench, rotate the engine clockwise by turning the crank balancer bolt. After 2 complete revolutions back to TDC, confirm timing mark alignment on the pullies. If they're off, redo it until they're aligned. Good luck.

Remove all belts and rad, use a pully puller to remove the belt pully, and then you need a special puller to pull the harmonic balancer.
