Where is the fuse box for the 2005 Subaru Forester?

Many of the electrical items, such as seat heaters, cigarette lighters for running battery charger for phone, do not work. I have tried to find a fuse box but cannot and I think it is a whole different set up than an old Toyota.

I know exactly where that pull down box is, but if I pull it up or wherever it will NEVER go back. . .I did something to my glove box and that will never go back either.

Yes, it will go back in. It removes relatively easy and can be done one handed. To install it, you just need to position the small compartment over the pivots and push straight in. Once you get it out, look closely at the the attaching points to get a better understanding of how it works. This will make it easier for positioning during reassembly.

Hello, the interior fuse box is usually located behind the left side dash. Look to see if your car has a small drop down coin compartment just left of your left knee if your sitting in the drivers seat. If you open the small compartment and pull straight back and up the compartment will pop off of its mounting tabs and the fuse box is inside. The fuse map/legend should be on the back of the compartment you just pulled out. The under hood fuse box is on the drivers side of the car, under the hood just inside of the left front fender. It's almost touching the battery and washer fluid reservoir. I hope this info helps.

How can I change the cigarette lighter fuse in Toyota Avalon 2005?

Changing the fuse in the fuse box wont solve your problem On the back of the socket that is mounted in the dash that the lighter pushes into has a inline fuse that if over heated will blow. You will have to change the lighter. Toyota wanted close to $70 for a replacement lighter for my Tacoma. I never used the cigarette lighter for cigarett but needed to charge my cell phone so I replaced it with a dash Mount 12 Volt Power Socket for $10. Good luck.

You can purchase a specific charging socket extension at most car accessory outlets. It can be wired to the car's battery, or as an extension of another heavy load circuit such as the cigarette lighter and this is a very inexpensive item and is reasonably easy to instal.

The driver heated seats and cigarette lighter stopped working in my 2003 Subaru Forester. Are these two problems related? What could cause this to happen?

Check the fuse box and replace the fuse if it is bad. If this makes them work and the fuse blows again you will have to trace the wiring and or heating units to single out the problem.

Apart from the fuse box in the engine bay there is a fuse repository behind the coin alcove underneath the boot release. Fuse 3 for the lighter (I think) was blown. I replaced it and now the climate control console responds and the display lights up.
