Ok thanks for the info. Would you be able to give a rough price range on how much this will coast to get fix

  • montehammons May 02, 2015

No, you'd have to check with a transmission specialist.

I took it to the shop today. They say I need to replace the crankshaft. Does that sound about right? They said it'll coast 130$.

  • Bill Boyd May 02, 2015

Crank shafts cost a real lot more than $130 I think that it would be the crank shaft position sensor (CKP)that is being replaced and if so then the quoted price of $130 if it includes labour as well would be reasonable
There is a rotor that is attached on the crank shaft that the sensor reads but again that would not need a replacement crankshaft either just a rotor

Thanks for getting back bill. Your right it's the crankshaft sensor. She was saying that the code is related to the crankshaft sensor.
