Is the battery or charge lamp glowing running>?
are there any OTHER symptoms.?
read the 2002 operators guide yet?
in the glove box?
it covers this,
if the battery voltage is low, (bad happens) then this can happen or really any random thing.
Cars can have up to 10 or more computers now.
and if main power drops. to (invalid) levels.
the electronics fails. or goes to random states
(about 10v to 11v things start going odd)
on my car this is feature. the autolock deal, that i have turned off, covered in the guide it is..... but if car acts truly odd. not normal. then battery is first, "12.60vdc rested "is good. (car off? what exactly and when>?)
if no volt meter, then test car with fresh good battery out of another car. or use jumper cables (car to car) (fail now)?
or charge your battery.? WITH BATTERY CHARGER.
or buy a $10 voltmeter and check it.
OR GET Your battery tested.
or get car serviced before it STALLS?
as with all things electronic. we check power first make sure the power to the BCM (if this is what controls doors, id didn look, but we must have good power first. then if that is good. then we scan the PCM/BCM for errors.
a scan tool may show why it fails. so scan it after checking all fuses. (all or related)
LOCKS 101:
now the door locks answer, power good.
My car (04GV) has 2 modules. the DL and EQPD module.
FOB 101:
first is the FOB , what if the FOB is bad.
move it far from car, that fob and start using the spare FOB !!! (i have 3, car came with 2)
most fobs this old are (old and end of life)
so do that.first. or put in all new FOB batteries if suspected (they are).
I clean the switches in them and make sure they don't stick!!!
the EQPD module can be unplugged to see if that cures this problem. (if does, the fobs are suspect or IT)
if that does not cure it. then we have any of the door switches, or there wires, grounding out. each door switch sends a ground signal to
the DL controller.
4 switches, and even the main ground (power) to the DL contl. can be bad.
EPQD is the FOB brain,(receiver)
or even a loose fuse to the DL or EQPD.
re-seat DOORLOCK, IG-meter and DOME fuses.
or buy a new DOORLOCK fuse, it might have hair line cracks in side............
Faulty ground
if the unit re-inits power it locks the door
you could also have a faulty battery that voltage has a low 11 or 10,5 v
so will start up and run just one cell has died
if this isnt the case then its some sort of ground leakage of the supply to the alarm triggered central clocking relay feed {from alarm to doors ..
i suspect a ground with rust
