2008 ford escape transmission cooler failure

Just had the transmission cooler replaced for a second time in less than 16 months on a 23-month old Escape. They know this is a bad part, but I still had to pay a $100 deductible. Customer Service says they don't reimburse deductibles no matter what. Generally I would accept that, but not for two failures of a known problem part with just 42,000 miles. Any ideas on a higher-up to contact above Customer Service?

My 2008 ford escape transmission and speedometer is not working

You may have a transmission failure due to inadequate lube flow. This can happen during warm up and cold weather. Your transmission probably needs rebuilt or replaced and then install a transmission fluid cooler bypass kit.

Sounds like you need a transmission rebuild :(
Typical symptom of transmission failure, especially in a vehicle as old as yours. Have you ever replaced the transmission fluid or filter? No? Hmmmm... ;)

I have a 2001 ford escape 2.0 L 4 Cyl with 5 speed Manual Transmission. Recently had the clutch replaced with in a week the speedometer would be eratic but not all the time then after about a month on...

Definitely not an expert here, but exactly the same symptoms after a clutch replacement. I found one of the wires going to the connector on the harness side of the Vehicle Speed Sensor pulled in two. Can only surmise that during the clutch installation this connector wasn't disconnected and during movement of the transmission to get to the clutch was put under tension causing the failure. I haven't confirmed the solution yet, but pretty sure I'm on the right track.

A/c not cooling on 2008 Ford Escape. Compressor comes on and suction pressure seems ok. have no way to check head pressure.

Hard to diagnose system without full manifold set. A restricted orifice tube can act as you describe, and debris from the wrecked condenser could have gotten to the orifice.

2008 ford escape transmission cooler failure

Hello! it is very unfortunate your situation. it is **** service departments staffed with incompetence. i have made a 20 year career out of the automotive industry, the last 16 with dealerships. i pride myself in customer service and frown on all of the hacks that are out there ruining a good name. Yes fors has had issues with the "combo cooler" it is a condenser for the airconditioning and cooler for the tranmsision. when repairs are performed @ the dealership, it carries a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty when they use oem parts. you stated it has been 2 coolers in 13 months? the warranry is based off of the original installation. not each addition failure should they occur. now that this is understood. your dealership has the ability to utilize their "CLP" budget to satisfy your needs. this is caled a P18. CLP stands for customer loyalty program. it is a tool that dealerships can use to help people in situations like yours. HOVEVER there are 2 questions they ask on the form to be submitted..is the customer a maintenance customer of the ford dealership and do they have an extended warranty. if the answer is no to either question....welll..you get the point. i do beleive they should assist you by maybe discounting the parts and labor in the interest of your return visits. as i tyoe this long drawn out letter, i wonder if the canadian warranties are different or for that matter if you have the complimentary powertrain warranty that comes with fords sold in USA it is a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. if the advisor looks up coverage by using fords computer system and inputs the true part number of condenser...it would say not covered....but the failure is actually the transmision cooler..which if was seperate from the condenser, would have a different part number...that part number may come up as a covered repair...hmmmm...i will check this for you tomorrow @ work and get back to you
