The timing marks are notches on the engine block and all the pulleys that the belt goes around! Before removing the belt make sure all pulleys are in line with there mark! If not sure contact your local mechanic!

SOURCE: I need blink diagnostic code 22 for my tata indica dls v2 bs2 diesel car model2007

How long after the Injection pump repair did this start happening? If not long ago, I'd go back to the repair man or ?Dealer?. Was the overhaul Manufacture recall? It's highly unusual for injection pump failure on a fairly recent Auto.

My engine is a v6 03 land rover freelander timing mark is like showed in diagram on crankshaft but piston is not tdc

On the freelander it's done that way so none of the pistons strike the valves like when taking the cylinder head off as these pistons come very close to the valves on these engines but if you take off the crankshaft pulley wheel the true mark will be on the gear that the cambelt sits around use this mark on this gear if you want no1 piston at tdc and set the cams up with their irrelevant marks at the same time

My 2003 freelander crankshaft mark is set as well the cams but piston is not on top dead center on safe mark on sude mark piston is on top but cant turn it gets stuck

I've worked on freelanders loads of times presuming yours is the petrol model when you set the timing up on these when working on them. all pistons are at the halfway mark in the bores this is so no pistons strike the valves when taking the cylinder head off. So the actual mark if you want it set at tdc you need to take off the crankshaft pulley wheel it won't do any harm just four little bolts if I recall when this crankshaft wheel is out of the way you still have the gear there what the cambelt sits round. It is on that gear where the true mark is to set up the timing with no1 piston at tdc. Infact the pulley wheel needs to come off when changing a cambelt make sure the timing marks are set up properly check twice if nessessary then turn engine over one revolution by hand slowly to make sure no internal parts are hitting and timing marks come back together

How do I refit the distributor on a 5 cyl 2.5i m/bus and make sure the timing is correct

The tdc needs to be on (compression stroke)you can use a compression gauge to judge compression stroke.or the old school way I do is take out #1 plug and put finger over plug hole in head, let someone bump the starter until the compression blows your finger away from hole. Roll engine by hand.(socket and breaker bar on crank bolt if needed) slowly clockwise to Line up marks. Install distributer with button pointing toward #1 prong in cap.

NEED PIC OF CAM LOBES OF WHERE THER SITTING AT IN ENGINE ON TOP DEAD CENTER.THE CAM SPROCKET ARE NO HELP THEY DONT HAVE KEY WAYS TO LINE UP SO THERE ERELVANT TO SETTING THIS PART BUT GREAT FOR THE SIT UP...

find no1 piston and remove the spark plug. loosen of the cam shaft bearings to prevent valve damage when turning engine . Turn the engine over by hand until the no1 piston is coming up on exhaust stroke ( find this by placing your finger over no1 plug hole and turning the engine over until you feel pressure under the finger. Watch for the timing mark on the crank pulley /Sprocket. Once you have established that the piston is at TDC rotate the crank 360 degrees as this will now be the exhaust stroke . Watch carefully the exhaust rocker and the inlet rockers for no1 piston as it is coming up to TDC. you will see that the exhaust rocker will be coming up and at a point the inlet will start to go down IT is at this point when a bit of crank movement either way rocks the ex and inlet together ( valve overlap) with the crank on TDC that the cam shaft will be timed to the crankshaft

Line up the timing marks starting with the crankshaft pulley. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the marks line up. audi-a4-b5-crankshaft-timing.jpg - See more at: http://www.happywrenching.com/a4/audi-a4-b5-28l-v6-timing-belt-replacement-removal-and-installation.html#sthash.FZPABPk1.dpuf

Timing alignment 2009 dodge journey se 2.4l

you cannot set the timing anymore , the engine computer does that now , have you checked to see if the camshaft position sensor was re-positioned properly .
the exhaust valve camshaft may not be positioned properly.
there are holes in the camshaft pulleys and the cylinder head that must be aligned and retained with bolts before you remove the timing belt / chain
