If its a water vapor it might be cylinder head gasket or a crack on the cylinder head, if its an oil vapor it might be piston rings or valve guide seal or valve guide broken due to drive while cold.

White smoke means engine coolant is entering the engines cylinder's . Which could be a bad head gasket , cracked head or block , or intake manifold gaskets ! I wouldn't drive it like this you could damage the engine more !

SOURCE: white smoke from buick tailpipes, wont start

I had the same problem with my '87 Buick LeSabre 2 years ago. But it didn't seem to fit right, the car was running fine up until it just didn't. I had 3 professional mechanics swear it was a blown head gasket. I researched thoroughly and found out this particular engine make has a DEFECTIVE upper intake manifold which can break down and cause coolant to leak into oil, simulating a blown head gasket. The NHTSA had issued a recal on SEVERAL GM cars with this engine, EXCEPT for the '97. I filed a complaint with the ODI and as of today it is now COVERED as a "Defect & Recall". NHTSA ID number 96V116000. This MAY be your problem if it is NOT the "usual" blown head gasket. Hope this helps.

2012 kia sedona white smoke comes out of exhast when first started

White smoke is usually an indication of burning antifreeze and burning oil would have a more bluish tint to it and smell like burning oil. If it's a 2012, isn't it still covered by the KIA warranty though??

It sounds like piston rings are worn you can try some engine restore thats what its called when you change the oil next time put that in in place of about a 1/2 of quart of oil run for 500-1000 miles and see if its better if not need to rebuild motor.
