What is the number in the radio? There should be a number ending with 2 letters and 3 numbers. Just need the last letter and 3 numbers to generate the code required. You will find them on the back or side of the radio with some barcodes.

You really need the code. The radio will shut down after a period. This is something particular to Renault. It may be a feature that allows the radio to be tested without knowing the code.
Check the handbook if you don't have the code, sometimes people write them inside somewhere.

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard .
Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.
Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.

You will need to do further research on this but I remember someone telling me some late model dealer radios need to have the vehicle identification number (VIN) programmed into the radio as part of the fitting procedure. This would need to be done with dealer level diagnostic equipment.

This was the content of a conversation with a colleague who commented about a customer who refused to pay the high price for a replacement radio and instead bought one from a breaker and saved a lot of money only to pay the dealer a large amount to reprogramme the radio to the new VIN.

Hi I have a Renault Clio 4 with a touch screen radio that can't be removed so how can i get the serial number in order to get the authentication code with it
If you have the original handbook for the car you might find the code in there. If not you may have to take you vehicle details to a dealership. This option might cost you.

You may find the code noted down in any documentation that came with your vehicle. If you cannot find such a thing you should contact an ICE installer who should be able to assist. Coses are specific to each unit generally, there may be a generic, master code, again .....a technician should have such knowledge to impart

Go online and search the "radio codes". Find a site that covers your brand, enter your radio make model serial number etc as required.

Pay a couple of bucks and get the code. Have you checked your owners manual, sometimes previous owners write the code in it?

Hi,

Regretfully due to reasons of theft or piracy we do not pass the radio codes here at FixYa. If you contact your local Mercedes-Benz dealer they will give you the 5 digit code. (You must have your registration and know the complete serial number of the radio)
