If it still does it, locate the fuse panel and with the car off, pull a fuse and measure the current draw. Be careful. Make sure your meter is on HI AMPS.

If I remember you need to remove them from laying on the ground and going in from under the car behind the bumper. Some models did have 2 screws on the front the older ones had to be removed from behind the bumper.

i know it sounds old school but try tapping the starter kinda hard and then try starting it sometimes they get to hot and freeze up
Disconect the battery and ECM for FOUR DAYS then reconect the ECM and BATTERY. Let it sit for another four days without turning anything on. It should start but will run rough for about 200 miles as the ECM relearns the system. I had the same issue and that is what fixed it.
