In my Buick Rendezvous the airbag light blinks 5 or 6 times then pauses off the stays on. I don't know what it means and would like to secure my safety. Please help.

It started about a week ago and I really don't know what to do about it.

Airbag light

The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles require a OBD2 code scanner for the diagnosis. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself.

My airbag light blinks 7 times when i startmy car

{: ) If the airbag light goes off after that 7 blinks (some are 6 or 8), that will be normal. The airbag module will blink the airbag warning light on the cluster while performing self-test during initial start-ups. After the self-test and the airbag module did not detect any fault within the airbag system, it will turn the warning light off. If the airbag warning light continuously blink or stayed lit after the expected elapse time, then there is really a concern and you need to double check the airbag system with a scan tool.

Airbag light stays on after 7 blinks

this means the airbag monitor has sensed a problem in the frontal crash sensor, until this is repaired the airbag system is disabled.

Airbag dashboard light keeps blinking. In 1997 Ford Thunderbird.

The air bag computer will have to be scanned and the code read to know what the fault the computer detects. The problem will have to be repaired for the light to shut off. Keep in mind, when the air bag light is illuminated the air bag system is deactivated. Meaning, in the event of a collision the bags won't deploy.

Buick Rendezvous 2002 need codes?

the BCM needs to be programmed to operate the computer. a GM techII is now required to calibrate BCM to airbag, stereo, keyless entry, and control pcm data. This is required to make it all work. a gm service should have it done within an hour or less just call and ask them how much it would be to program new BCM. it might cost @$75 to $125 but it is needed, to allow the BCM to work properly.

How can i stop airbag light from blinking while driving

Your airbag light blinking is telling you that something is wrong within the airbag system. The blinking is giving a code, it will blink x amount of times, then pause and again blink x amount of times. Example it blinks 3 times, then a pause, and then blinks 2 times, means the code is 32.

After you get the code you can find out what the problem is, and what exactly needs to be repaired. If you're not experienced with airbag systems, it is best to have it serviced by a professional.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

Beeps coming from over by the glove box after turning engine off.

the beeps are an airbag trouble code, that code is for the following:
In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to follow factory Airbag disarming protocol can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury or death.
