SOURCE: 2000 monte carlo blower motor works 1 thru 4 5 not working

I had similar problem. There is a small electrical card that is behind the blower motor up into the unit. it is the part that the wires plug into. It has traces on the card that, when you select a speed, will allow current to flow to the motor. The trace that was for the #5 setting had opened up. I had to solder a wire across the trace. got my #5 back. This resistor card shoud be availble at GM dealers if you do not have the know how to fix it.

My 1988 monte carlo hesitates on take off then clears up, what could it be?

The best place to start would be the throttle position sensor. If the vehicle has a carburetor than the next thing to check would be the accelerator pump. The sensor can be checked with a volt meter or a scope(even better). The pump can be checked by visual inspection.

I have a 1979 monte carlo with a 4.4L engine, it started misfiring recently so i nearly changed every part of the ignition and fuel system. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel pump, carburetor, and egr...

I would do a compression test on all the cylinders, you may have a burnt valve, valvetrain problems, ie. bent pushrod, bad lifters or some bad piston rings. I would check the fuel filter also.
