You may have to replace the sensor. If you get a chilton manual at an autoparts store, it will show you how to test the sensor with some test values in the book. The book should run about $20

SOURCE: toyota sienna interior lights not working

The problem is in the sunvisor light. You will have to take the light assembly off and you will find wires have become disconnected.

SOURCE: 2003 toyota sienna idle problem

After about 100K + miles the idle air control valve (IAC) begins to collect carbon deposits that interfere with the movement of the spring-loaded valve. You will not be able to clean this without removal and dissembly of the IAC body. Use an emory cloth or fine sandpaper to remove the build up around the valve. This should free it up to rotate without binding. This is a temporary fix, of course, and will either require cleaning again or replacement of the valve. Getting to the IAC requires removal of most of the intake upto, but not including, the intake manifold. Total time is approximately 3-4 hours, but worth it. Good luck, and I hope this helps.

Could be one or more injectors stuck open. Pull sparkplugs, one will look different, that's the one to check injector.

Start is ok but release gas pedal engine is stop

Sounds like the throttle stop is worn. Since this car is 13 years old, that is what I would suspect.

3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 (01-03, VVT-i)
The V6 DTCS, we need all DTCs thrown. by number

How to replace the throttle body sensor in camry 1994.

which one, some have 2, one is TPS other is MAF.
post a photo with finger pointing?
TPS: (guess 1)
that is the first step in the FSM book made.....

on all cars. "disconnect the battery before replacing electrical parts."

the only danger here, is losing radio codes, and NAV on new cars.
some cars need to do a relearn steps. (FSM covers all this get one)? (alldata.com or at toyota or used off ebay>)

on many cars the TPS, its called, needs to be calibrated.
why hot read the FSM and follow the simple steps.
no engine stated so I can NOT be specific.
you dont know whats under the hood and you are fixing it>?

94 camry. V30 model.
ill try my dice. I roll and land on.
6 camry, and 2 engines, and i guess USA>
https://parts.olathetoyota.com/toyotaoemparts.html
i guess DX and 2.2Liter.

1994 is big time transition year, so...... need all that.
up to 8 engines used world wide, but not in USA. we had 2.
one is a V6, got that?

ill post FSM qoutes to prove my case (not like changing a light bulb)
1MZ-FE
  1. Loosen the sensor screws. Apply vacuum to the throttle opener, if equipped.
  2. Insert a 0.021 inch (0.054mm) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and lever.
  3. Connect an ohmmeter to terminals IDL and E2 of the sensor.
  4. Gradually turn the sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter deflects and then tighten the screws.
  5. Using a 0.014 inch (0.035mm) feeler gauge between the throttle stop and lever, verify with an ohmmeter that there is continuity.
  6. Using a 0.030 inch (0.070mm) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and lever, verify with an ohmmeter that there is not continuity.

5S-FE? got that?

The TPS set wrong will cause the following problems.
1: Cruise failure.
2: EFI IDLE controls dead.
3: automatic transmission, shifting issues.
and more.

FIRST DISCOVER ENGINE TRUE NAME ,
then ask questions about it. like 1MZ-FE.
or??

alldata.com shows 6 engines.
and i can tell you they are not the same. not at all.
all diffr. EFI too.

Where is the idle adjustment screw on a 1993 Toyota Camry 6 cylinder?

There is no idle adjustment screw on this engine, which is normal for EFI engines. The idle is controlled by the car's computer. It does this by controlling the Idle Air Control - IAC - valve, which should be checked in your case. See here p271

http://www.turboninjas.com/camry/eg2.pdf

There is a throttle stop screw, not the same, on the throttle body, which you may be thinking of, p263. This does not directly control idle speed.

Also the A/C, if any, can affect the idle if the A/C idle-up switch has failed. If testing this switch, do so when the engine is hot, as that is when they fail. See p295

Engine light on Toyota sienna 1999 system too lean code 171

On the inlet flex hose coming from the Air Filter to the Throttle Body, there is attached with 2 tiny screws the AIR FLOW METER,or by the side of the Throttle body, remove it carefully and remove the "O" Rings and use a carburator cleaner and clean the inside of it where the Hot-Wire is as the dust picked up by the filter will seat on the Hot wire and cause the false message sent to the ECU and makes car goes very slowly .
