I have a question pending. I just joined. Can anyone discuss replacing plugs on a 1982 Chevrolet Corvette witn Crossfire injection.

  • bbigrnfig Jul 09, 2009

I can't seem to get my hands and a wrench near the plugs. There appears to be a heat shield around the two rear plubs on each bank. Does the heat shield have to be removed? Should I attack the problem from underneath? What is the best way to do the job?

1984 corvette fuel solenoid

unfortunatly you are going to have to run new power and a new pump. a fuel injection pump runs 30 psi minimum some of them quite a lot higher than that. a carb cannot have more than 7psi without bypassing the float in it and overflowing the carb with fuel. when going to a carb you will have to get a low pressure fuel pump and completely rerun the fuel system
