There might be fuel in the filter housing because it's trying to get through the screen. Clean the screen and replace the fuel filter and you should be good to go.

03 f250 7.3 starts good after about 10 eng will lose power, them speed up & die. will not restart for awhile. will ACT LIKE IT WANTS TO & finely start & run with some missing.

Great vehicle but has popular failures. I'll list most of them and you can see if one applies of you. Clogged fuel filter or improperly installed fuel filter. Some people screw up and don't use both included O-rings before installing. This oversight can clog the fuel return. The in-line fuel pump can stop working. The fuel filter screens inside the fuel tank could be clogged. The engine could have low oil, thinned out with fuel or overdue for service. The engine may have one or more faulty fuel injectors. Please write back and let me know what you have for tools or how far you can go with this. Good luck.

Fuel filer location on a 2006 Chevy Impala 3.9l

Hi. Sorry but your vehicle does not have a fuel filter per say. The only fuel filter is a screen which is located on the housing assembly. The housing holds the fuel pump and sending unit and is inside the fuel tank. If there is anything else please write back.

Clogged fuel line

How do you know that it is clogged? There are several possibilities. There is an Inertia switch which shuts off fuel pump power. Do you hear a fuel pump running when the key is turned on? The fuel pump also has a Relay.

Has the fuel pump filter been replaced? The filter may be blocked. The tank also has a plastic internal screen which can break down and clog the pump intake.

Depending on where you live, below freezing temperatures can form ice in the lines. A product called "Heet" can melt this.

Would a faulty electric fuel pump relay be the reason there is no power going down to the fuel pump in a 2002 suzuki grand vitara 2.0 rhz diesel engine

To test fuel flow, have a 2nd person stand over air filter (air filter housing open) with a can of starting fluid in one hand. Don't give any throttle, then 2nd person gives 1-second squirt into air filter while you're turning starter motor (no throttle). When engine catches, immediately give one third to one half throttle. Just before it dies, 2nd person should give another short squirt of starting fluid to keep engine from dying. If throttle won't keep engine running and only starting fluid keeps it running, then yes, no fuel is going through fuel lines. Either its a fuel pump issue or maybe there's restriction because of clogged dirty fuel filter. If it starts but runs rough and has black exhaust smoke, then its clogged or dirty fuel injectors.

Fuel filter location

Your Jeep does not have a sperate fuel filter that is serviceable like an older vehicle. The so called fuel filter is just a screen attached to the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank. It is very rare that this screen becomes clogged or causes an issue requiring removal, but if the fuel screen is in need of replacement (very rare), then the entire fuel pump module assembly inside the tank will need to be replaced.

I have a Nissan XTrail that has the above engine. it has recently developed a problem of stalling on the road and it refuses to start. the idling is very erratic. What could be the problem?

Check the fuelcap first for clogged breather holes. The tank could be sucked vacuum while driving. Problem gets worse when fuel tank is full.

Second is to check the ignition system - loose/damaged lines, sparkplugs blacked out etc (assuming its not a diesel engine). Might run on less cylinders because of irregular firing. Exhaust might smell like fuel.

Third check fuel filter - might be clogged and might need replacement. If it's been changed recently, make sure there's no airpocket in the filter housing. Bleed the filter housing properly to get rid of air pockets.

Need location of fuel filter on a 2004 jeep grand cherokee

Your vehicle is not equipped with a fuel filter. The filter is a mesh screen that is attached to the fuel pump module inside the fuel tank, and is not a serviceable part, unless the filter or pump is defective. It is rare to have the screen on the module to become clogged or to need replacing.

2004 jeep grand cherokee loredo will start and run for 3-5 minutes then stall , and then wont start for about another 5-10 minutes .

Sounds like a clogged fuel filter ( cheap and easy to change) and should be to avoid this as it can lead to a sluggish or failed fuel pump.

Fuel filters are sometimes clear plastic so you can see the grunge through teh little housing while others are metal housings and you change em cause its time if you cannot remember having done so.
