First, check the tire pressure of the spare. If all tires are properly inflated, then one of the sensors are bad and must be replaced.

Warning light appeared on the dash, its red in colour looks like a horse shoe with an exlamation mark in the middke

That is the low tire pressure warning. It can come on for several reasons. It commonly comes on in the fall as temperatures drop, the air in the tires contracts and the pressure drops. Check the air pressure and fill as needed. The tires also all need to be within 4 psi of each other.
Another common cause is that one or more tire sensor needs the battery replaced. This is not generally considered a DYI project because for most cars the tires must be removed from the rims. Finally the sensor can be damaged by hitting a curb or by adding chemicals into the tire used to seal small leaks.
As long as you check your tires visually prior to driving it is usually ok to wait to service the sensor for when you replace or rotate your tires.

Please keep in mind driving on a tire with low pressure can damage the tire, the rim or even cause delamination of the tread and cause an accident. The Firestone recall that involved Ford Explorers several years ago was from driving on tires with low pressure.

My girlfriend has an 01 Impala that just keeps costing me. Ive fixed several things and worked my way around others. The LOW TIRE PRESURE light keeps coming on even though there are pretty good tires all...

For the engine noise, all I can tell you is that you must locate the source of the noise. You probably have a bad bearing, worn out alternator, or something similar. You should try removing the serpentine belt and start the engine to see if the noise is still there. If it is, then there is something wrong internally like a timing chain or something. If the noise is gone, then you need to inspect all the pullies that are driven by the serpentine belt including alternator, power steering, A/C, idler pulley, tensioner pully, etc.

The tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) can be pretty picky.

1. Check all of your tire sizes to make sure they are all the same size. I have seen many problems with people putting used tires on the vehicles that don't match the other tires in size. I have also seen this caused by tires that are the same numerical size but one is new and the rest are worn-out causing a difference in the circumference of the tire. This makes the tires rotate at different speeds and makes the TPMS "think" there is a low tire.

2. the tire pressures need to be checked with a GAUGE. You could have one or more tires OVER INFLATED and this will also cause the light to come on. I have seen lots of problems with people that keep adding air to the tires, but don't ever use a gauge (they just use the "eyeball gauge"). This does not work with a TPMS. They ALL need to be inflated to the pressure that is on the lable inside the drivers door. They also must all be within 2 Psi of each other.

NOTE: After adjusting tire pressures, it can take up to 30 minutes of straight line driving to get the light to go out. Do not expect it to go out right away, it is not going to happen unless you reset the TPMS with a scan tool.

If you are certain that the problem is not being caused by tire sizes or tire pressures, then the TPMS should be scanned to check for fault codes. There could be several other reasons why the light could keep coming on (bad wheel sensor, communications faults, internal TPMS module failure, etc.)

Tyre pressure warning light showing when pressures are correct

Hi, the tire pressure monitor detects any changes in the tire inflation pressure. Therefore, it must initialize and store it in its memory if the tires or wheels have been replaced, re-inflated or the tires have been rotated. You can re-initialize the system by following these steps:

1. Check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.

3. Now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.

4. Initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

2004 4 runner: Low tire pressure warning light is on, even though there is no tire pressure issue. Is this a sensor problem? or maybe the light is not working?

the senors tell you if the tire is low or even if the tire is not low if the tires are off a couple pounds from each other then the light will come on.

A service light came on, and I am not sure what it stands for it kind of looks like this (!)

this is your low tire pressure indicator light , it means one of you tires air pressure is lower than it should be , check you tire pressure on all tires and inflate as needed once they are correct than the light will go out , keep an eye on the tire that was low , you may have a slow leak

''Check Engine Soon'' light Stays On.

Must have engine computer scanned to get codes and determine cause of check engine light. Low tire light probably needs reset. Open passenger door and remove panel on side of dash. Reset switch should be located in that compartment.
