You don't bypass the switch, you replace the switch or can be dangerous. and the switch send signal to computer to know the gear you select. replacing the switch is easy, just remove the screw holding the linkage and unplug the wire. the new switch have a mark to align on N neutral on you shifter, tight thw two screw and drive safe

If you have an automatic trans, neutral safety switch could be bad. Try starting in neutral, or use jumper wire to bypass it. Could also be bad solenoid.

if this vehicle is an automatic an easy way to check if it is the safety switch is try starting the vehicle in neutral instead of park. it may save you a few bucks.

your linkage might need adjustment would not advise to bypass switch as it will start in ANY GEAR AND MIGHT CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH suggest replacement of safety switch not that expensive

t's located on the right side of the transmission, the shift selector rod attaches to it and is has a large electrical connector with a lot of wires. The shift lelector lever has to be removed, it has either one or two 10mm bolts connecting it to the transmission.
