A 1998 Volvo S70 won't turn over, I hooked a car jumper up to it & it still won't turn over but all the lights everything came on strong so I'm assuming it's the kill switch but I can't locate it. Can u tell me where it's located?

There is a solenoid on top of the starter that makes the connection to the starter. If that goes bad, or is simply disconnected, you can get problems like you're describing.

SOURCE: Car Heater smells strange

from he Popular Mechanics site if the smell in your car is like maple syrup:

(1) SMELLS LIKE: MAPLE SYRUP
WHEN: After the engine has warmed or possibly even after it's shut off for a few minutes.
THE CULPRIT: Coolant containing sweet-smelling (but toxic) ethylene glycol is leaking from somewhere. It could be coming from a radiator or heater hose, a failed intake manifold gasket or cylinder head. It might be coming from a leaky radiator cap or the radiator itself, especially if you smell it outside the car. A strong odor inside the passenger compartment probably means a bad heater core.

Volvo 1998 S70 headlight and indicators won't always turn on

I have had this happen before - this is the multifunction switch on the steering column. The one on my Ford took about 10 minutes to change (two bolts). My problem - I would turn my lights off, then turn them back on and nothing, then they would suddenly pop on. after a bit my lights would not come on at all. I had to drive with my Flash to Pass lights for a couple of days when driving at night.

I hope this helps!
