92 Dodge B250 van transmission slips in first gear for about 2-3 minutes the spedo and odometer both quit ,replaced transmission speed sensor still nothing . any ideas ??
I have changed transmission filter and fluid,transmission speed sensor going to start testing wire's. Could this be a ground problem?? Every now and then the speedometer bounces

input and out put speed sensors tell the TCM and the ECM the difference between engine rpms and transmission input roms so that the correct gear ratio can be selected
A speedo sensor reads the out put shaft (drive line ) shaft and refers to road speed for speed and odometer readings and to calculate the fuel consumption rate
it is possible that you have replaced the wrong sensor
Talk with an accredited transmission specialist shop and have the problem diagnosed
You probably have a check engine light staying on too. My first guess would be the speed sensor on the transmission but I would check for trouble codes first.

hi there try to get a price on the speed sensor located on the transmission this sensor tells the computer how fast the van is going in turn the transmission shifts gears and there will be information sent to the speedometer . the reason the van only goes in low gear is to protect the system because the sensor is damaged so replace the speed sensor and try again , let me know how its running after relpaceing the sensor good luck
