Air blend actuator 2000 ford explorer is not working?

First, insure you do not have a vacuum leak or bad vacuum check valve. If this is all good, you may have to change actuator and every model has a different way to access this--some require dash removal. If you must do this, get a shop manual as the air bags CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS!

2004 ford explorer heat on all the time

the problem with these and many other Ford truck products is the blend door gets stuck or the actuator craps out. Unfortunately, you do have to take the dash apart in order to replace either. If you can get to the blend door and see if it will move by hand (after disconnecting it from the actuator), this will tell you if the problem is a jammed blend door or a broken actuator.

When i turn the heat on it makes a clicking sound, and it blows out cold air, but when i turn cold temp on the clicking sound stops, until heat temp is turned back on. please tell me how to fix this...

Your ac blend door is broken or the actuator that opens and closes the door is broken. The ac blend door moves up and down to direct air flow through the heater core(for heating) or evaporator core(for cooling).

When the door mechanism breaks, the blend door falls down and you will only have ac but no heating.

You can buy a ac blend door kit for your explorer, they cost about $120 on ebay or other places.
search for Explorer ac blend door kit.

The duct is under the the dash on the drivers side. And you will have to cut open the duct to install the replacement door.

Heres a link to a tutorial of how to do the job.

My heat went in my 2004 ford explorer...its blowing colding and there is a knocking noise

The knocking noise is the key. Assuming the coolant level is correct, and the thermostat is working correctly, it sounds like you have a blend door actuator concern. If the knocking noise is coming from the center dash area, the blend door needs to be replaced. The radio and center trim will need to be removed, the blend door removed and the blend door needs to be manually moved to verify heat. Good luck.

2003 ford explorer no heat and clicking in dash board

Clicking sound is your blend door actuator stripping it's gears and failing to open the door that directs the blower air through the heater core. Follow the sound to the actuator and remove it. Install a new one. You may have to remove some panels to get to it. The part is shown below and costs $32 at autozone. Please let me know if you have questions.

Heating problems

This problem is caused by a defective blend door (stuck) or blend door actuator motor. The blend door is what moves in the air stream to supply heat or cool, or a blend of the two, it is in the dash and the dash must be removed to access it for repair.
