I got a code p0446 and u1153 what is wrong - Cars & Trucks

P0446 is a code for the EVAP vent valve . This part is under the vehicle near the fuel tank , not on the fire wall . That is the purge valve .

What make , model an year vehicle ? U1153 is a communication code . Vehicles with more then one control module have a serial data network for the control modules to talk to each other on . p0300 is a random misfire which could be low fuel pressure , vacuum leaks etc..

Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification (ID) number of the module which sent the message for state of health monitoring/node alive messages. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. Once an ID number is learned by a module, it will monitor for that modules node alive message. Each module on the class 2 serial data circuit is required to send a Node Alive message every 2 seconds. When no message is detected from a learned ID number for 5 seconds,
your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

U1153 is a code that sets when one of the modules is not communicating , what it means is one of the modules is off line. I don't know how much you know about newer vehicles , There is a serial data communication network that the control modules use to share data . Most newer vehicles have 10 or more such modules , ecm- engine module , air bag , anti-theft , anti-lock brakes , some sort of a body control module , transmission, HVAC - heating , ventilation , air conditioning ! Newer cars use CAN- controller area network , GM - GMLAN , class 2 data bus ! You need a up scale scan tool to do this repair an possibly a oscilloscope !

something is wrong with vapour control system ,could just be a `perished rubber pipe along the line somewhere and you will have to look and check it all ,and renew the pipe as necessary

take it back to your mechanic and have him check it again, he may have missed something, or it has more wrong with it than he found on that visit.

That code is for the evaporative emmisions system. Here is a link to an open forum you can go to, this will help you understand what it is, and why.
