There is no specific fuse to replace. You need to use a multi-meter to check for a electrical short or a burnt "fusible link". Refer to a wiring diagram in a repair manual for the make, model, and year of your truck, witch could be obtained from an auto parts store.

How do I fix or repair the cigar lighter in a ford ranger year 2000?

If you are not getting any voltage at the socket, try finding a faulty fuse.
If you have voltage getting to the wire harness leading to the lighter socket- but it is not getting past the fusible link connection inside the socket, replace the unit.
By design, a fusible link is supposed to melt- (breaking the circuit) when there is high-current draw.
You can test for power either by using a voltmeter or test light and the fusible link with a continuity tester or Ohm meter with tone

Good morning need to now what is fuse num 17 in my truck ford explorer xls. as soon is i try to put a fuse it pops

Hello, This 25 Amp fuse(#17) is for your cigarette lighter socket. If you used the socket for something else, you may have bent the terminals inside it. You will need to replace this socket as it is shorting out.

This should not be too expensive. Sometimes the autoparts stores have a display of HELP products for typical repairs and a socket going bad is common.

Where is the fuse for the cigarette lighter is a 2000 ford ranger? Neither one of the lighters work. I also need to know what size fuse it is.Thanx

This is most likely not a fuse issue if it is the fuse box under the dash of the drivers side and its unfortunately a process of elimination to find the blown one. However i believe this is more likely to be an issue with the cigarette lighter unit and / or housing. These can be bought and replaced with minimal effort. See you local automotive parts retailer.

Location for fuze for lighter for a 1996 ford ranger

The fuse for the cigarette lighter can be found in the power distribution box under the hood, not in the fuse box within the cab. It can be located in the last row of fuses, second one from the right and is a 30 amp fuse.

Need to change the fuse of the cigarette lighter in my 53 Ford Focus C-Max

For the cigarette lighter fuse on uk models ford focus there is another 'hidden' fuse box behind the glove box.
Just unscrew three screws at the hinge of the glove box.
Replace fuse 35 which is a 15amp fuse.
Hope this helps .

Cigarette lighter does not work

first check the fuse, next, get a light tester and see if you getting power to the lighter unit. two wires to your cigarette lighter one black for - and red for +, if you getting power, your line is good that mean your cigarette lighter unit does does not have a good contact to what ever is plugging in. replace the unit; if no power to the unit, test the cigarette fuse and see if the wire is hot. if not you have a short to the fuse. hope that help some..good luck
