However, I can not find an inertia switch. I have a 1998 Jaguar XK8 convertible. Does being a convertible make a difference in this switch's location?
I removed the passenger kick panel and also checked in the fuse box door on the dash at the passenger side. Thank you.

You might need a lube job or you may need to see if noise is coming from another place such as your engine water pump, brakes, power steering. Look for leaks.

Try replacing your radiator cap, also do not fill to the top. Water expands when hot. Expasion tank/coolant tank should normally be around half full.
