Check for worn spines were the arm is on the motor or remove the holding nut and fit a washer then the nut back on.

1998 F-150 4x4, wipers stopped in mid sweep and remained there. I can hear the motor cycling but the arms don't move. It's probably a nuts off the wiper motor but how do I get to it?

Open the hood. The motor and linkages are mounted on the bulkhead just below the windscreen. As you mentioned its probably the linkage.

My front wiper will not work

tap on the wiper motor with a hammer with the key on and wiper on,if it works then replace the wiper motor, which cost about $60.00-$100.00---my ford did that and the magnet inside the motor was broken in little pieces....if the motor doesnt work after tapping on it,even a little, then check for a bad fuse,or wiggle the switch on the end of the signal switch

1998 ford expedition eddie bauer edition winshield wiper sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt... i would like to know where the location of the windshield motor

if you take off the wiper themself and then remove the trim under them the wiper motor is on the driver side you may have to replace the motor and if there is a go yard around you there you can get one at half the cost you can also take one off a F-150 the same kind of truck one has a bed the other one has seats also try to help you find one.
