Just standard ATF, Not type F. Actually I have heard you can use any Tranny fluid in Non Ford models but can only use Type F fluid in Ford model vehicles. I used to use type F in my MOPAR with Performance engine and Tranny with no problems. But if you are worried then use ATF or ATF+4 fluid and you should be fine.

My 1996 Nissan sentra uses 2 quarts of transmission fluid to go 20 miles what could be wrong with it

IF YOU ARE LOSING THAT MUCH FLUID THEN YOU HAVE A SEVERE LEAK, DO NOT PUT OFF HAVING IT CHECKED BECAUSE RUNNING A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOW ON FLUID WILL CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE PRETTY QUICKLY

Ive got a 1995 nissan sentra xe 1.6 with a automatic transmission. ive checked my transmission fluid and its low. i wanna know what brand and kind of transmission oil i should use? someone told me...

Dexron 11 went out of production about 1992

If you have to add, common sense tells you
that it is leaking, work on that issue

The brand don't matte,r but the specification does
I would put that question into your search engine
and also check with a dealer,as the current dex is not good
for your vehicle, only the latest GM veh. The Dex/Merc maybe, but the Multi Vehicle
may also be for Asian Vehicles.
Trying to help, but the exact spec I don't know
Also any trans repair shop will happily tell you

Transmission fluid change intervals

Ya but if nissan planted filter's in there tansmission's then they would grow, right?NISSAN does not install filter's in the tran's.It is a permanent screen and luckily for people all I have to do is undo the plug from the pan and drain while hot, screw the screw the plug back in and funnel your new fluid back in to the tran from the dip stick tube(my 04 sentra 1.8s 4speed automatic takes 5 quart's but holds 6-type D nissan fluid from dealer, change about every 15 to 20 thousand miles to keep it clean and thin.Remember trans fluid is petroleum and get's hot burn's and thicken's making restriction's on rotating metal). My car has over 90,000miles and shift's perfect
