I have ford focus 2.0 st 2003 it starts and run but when you try to exellerate it holds back and seems to miss fire when you lift off power seems to return but not fully it seem like fuel is being st

The most likely cause is a defective Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS)...It needs to be eliminated as the problem... You can test it rather than replace...If you have a volt meter and a little experience using one i'll guide you through the test...The TPS is located on the throttle body and can be identified as follows: Three wire connector wit wire colors Brown, White and Yellow...Set meter lowest DC Volt Scale...Using two safety pins push one into the rear of connector into Brown wire and the other into the White...Do not disconnect the connector...Attach the positive meter lead to the pin in the White wire...And the negative meter lead to the pin in the Brown...Start engine...At idle meter must read less than 1 volt (.08)...Slowly increase throttle (I realize engine will not go to full throttle) as close to full it will go...Meter must read nearly 4 volts...If meter does not go beyond 2 or 3 the TPS is causing your fault...If the test passes i'll take the process further...See attached picture of TPS and cost...saailer

Pull the MAF sensor and give it a cleaning the correct way.Sometimes something shorts those probes(tiny wires and delicate) and your engine will cut a shine on you.
Look up how to clean the MAF sensor if you don't know how. don-ohio

My 1998 Volvo S70 occasionally dies at stop lights or in heavy traffic. It will go weeks without a problem but then die repeatedly and I can barely keep it running long enough to get off the highway or...

I hear that, about parts not necessary. Quite a discrepancy among those mechanics. All I could say is to find a mechanic who is familiar with Volvos.
My suggestion,. without knowing what codes were given, is that possibly your throttle body needs cleaning. This is where the air enters the engine, and carbon or fuel deposits tends to build up there. It can get black and dirty over time, and cause problems like rough idle or hesitation.
But anyway, find a smart and honest mechanic-not always easy, but they should be better than guessing after getting the codes.

Hello, I have a Volvo S60 2,4d. Basix 130ps,

how are the plug wires, boosted engine's suffer from voltage leaks in even fairly new plug wires, the added cylinder pressure makes the spark plug require allot more voltage before it can fire compared to normally aspirated engine.

The engine is spluttering and it seems the more i put fy foot harder on the gas pedal it seems to die over that if i just let it idle. I thought it was a alternator but the lights are on etc. It feels like...

I know this sounds silly but check the air filter for blockage/dirt. If a engine runs fine at idle then wants to 'bog' down at anything above idle it possibly could not be getting enough air.

93 Volvo 940 Threw timing belt, now won't start

The same thing happened to my 94 volvo 960 the engine belt was having the same problem, i changed it the belt, it was fine for a few miles after that it just died, does not fire, not sure if it is getting fuel, but the mechanic says the timing belt went off. you may have to check the crank sensor on yours.

Vr4 with miss and back fire under load

If this just started, maybe after a hard run, you may want to check your sparkplugs. I've melted the insulator on one of my plugs after a prolonged, spirited run causing same symptoms.
