Cd player error

so is this a stock RAD/cd?
stock JBL 6 disk player in dash>? or? what? name and model #
mp3 and wma format. but not DVD
or
JBL premium 4-disc in-dash CD changer
io the single disc player, 3 kinds sold. new.

and now comes the big question.
TELLS where you got the disk, or name it, or tell how it was made if home made. we dont know that.

is said CD a CDDA? or not. (always try CDDA first)
is CD a real music disc. from a real store, CDDA, is that.
or CDR, or DVDr, or CDRW, or other record-able media
is music MP3? files.
see, the old units dont play modern media.

try 2 real discs, not scratched.
do they play?
one other way, is to name the radio, brand, like JBL then get the
p/n off it. (hard) then look up the product data sheet on it,
bingo, what it can and can not do is there.

but this does it all, mostly
does what yours will not do.

Just bought a 2002 exlorer. can't load cd's into cd player. reads cd error

I have found that any "burned" discs will not be read on older cd/radio combinations. The newer sets will tell you on the box what formats can be read...I also found this to be true on dvd players

I am trying to play a dvd in my 2007 Tahoe. It will not play and gives me an optical error message. Any thoughts?

{: ) If you have been playing DVD normally before on your Tahoe, and now you read error messages, it could be the player or the disc at fault. Most of the time it is the disc at fault. As much as possible, the discs shoul be clean and scratch free, not warped, and compatible to your player. Avoid using discs with paper label. Try a known good DVD disc and observe for any progress.
Just in case it's the first time you try and you have a navigation radio, check again your RPO lists. and look for a UVB listed on the RPO sticker. Or simply check the DVD symbol on the left lower corner of the radio, which indicates that it is capable of playing DVD audio or video.

Navigation not working get disk reading error message upon starting car and every few minutes afterward

Check for a scratched or dirty Navi DVD disc. Clean or have the scratches polish out at your local game store. Video game stores usually have a disc repair machine that polishes out scratches.
Note: In some cases the Navi unit can cause rotational scratches on the DVD. If this is the case than the Navi unit will have to be replaced.
