SOURCE: My 1996 jetta horn does not work. Fuse / relay okay

hi did you also checked the horn itselfs. when you take out the horn and look at the back you will see a adjust srew with sealingmastic on it. you can remove the sealingstuff and try to adjust the horn. this only works if the coil is not broken. but first you have to check the connection inside the steeringwheel. make sure the switch in the steeringwheel is making contact to earth. if this all doesnt work you have to buy a new one goodluck.

I have a 1996 jetta due i need what years will to use the same year cluster or what years can i use tks

94-early 99 model jettas. I think golfs will work also (plugs are same and they look right, but I have not tried mine yet).

Take the relay into your local parts store and they will test and match it up for you, as far as the diagram, I will post a link

Need fuse box diagram for a 96' jetta to find out which relay needs replacing. not the ac switch but cold air only not coming out but not hot either. nothing overheats yet fan not turning on..

Then it's not a relay you need to check but the series resistor pack inside blower housing. This controls the speed of the fan.

1996 VW jetta will not start

You vehicle works off a standard ignition key which links to a electrical ignition switch. The wire from the switch goes to the starter solenoid. That wire has a fusable link which operates like a fuse. If to many amps surge through this wire it will melt down inside the insulation. The insulation will not melt away causing a headache to most novice mechcanics. Pull on the solenoid wire a few inches away from the solenoid and see if it stretches at least 1/8 of an inch or more. If it does it has an open stopping the continuity to the positive lug to the solenoid preventing it to work. Any auto parts store sells these fusable links. The counterperson will suggest the crimping supplies and tools needed to purchase for this repair

I need a diagram with relay locations for a 94 vw jetta .I removed some of the relays now the car won't start. I may have one back in the wrong location.
