I have a 2000 Chevy Venture with a broken pulley/wheel in the serpentine belt path. The pulley/wheel in question is at the bottom of what I believe is the tensioner assembly. However the various diagrams online don't appear clear to me as compared to the picture I took of the area in question. Are you able to assess my photo and confirm the wheel/pulley in question?

SOURCE: serpentine belt diagram for my Ford V6 4.2L 97'

Lower left is the tensioner and above should the idler. Sometimes there is a diagram on the fan shroud or near the radiator. Without a picture I hope this makes sense.
Starting with the ac going over the top of its pulley and down to the power steering, to and under the crank shaft, going in and up and around left over the water pump to the tensioner (going under) and to the alternator over the top and then under the idler.

SOURCE: procedure to change serpentine belt 2006 toyota tacoma?

On my 2005 Tacoma with the 4.0L V6, I found it easier to change the belt from under the truck. Just remove the skid pan. Plenty of room to install the belt. The tensioner pulley is the one at about 2-o'clock from the crankshaft with the belt nearly all the way around it.

I have 2000 chevy venture my power steering pully broke off i replaced it i have no power steering because it leaks the fluid i been driving like this 2 months an now my pulley has broken off again

I suspect that your pump needs replacing. The pulley would only break if the pump is requiring more force to be turned. This would also explain why you have no power steering.

Ac serpentine belt bypass

I have a 2001 Chevy venture, and the belt broke. Seems that the A.C. Clutch got stuck and the new belt just squeals very loudly.
Does anyonne know how I can measure how long the belt needs to be while by-passing the A.C.? Thanks

1999 ford cougar v 6 fan belt fitting

OK, having REAL hard time looking up the diagrams today, however, given that the engine will turn (at the crankshaft) in a clockwise direction, 1) first locate the tensioner pulley(s) {there is usually only one per belt, and they are mounted to a bar/ arm that will move, SEE FIG A} AND the idler pulley(s) for each belt/ pulley track {the path over each set of pulleys as they are away from the engine face} ((e.g. if there are two pulleys on the crankshaft that are face to face, then there would be two tracks for a belt (one each) to go around all of the pulleys on that track)){e.g. #1 in FIG A is one belt track/ path. and # 3 is a different track/ path}

12_3_2011_8_31_38_pm.gif where #2 is the tensioner pulley in this example.

2) starting from the crankshaft, go along the bottom of the pulley towards the left of the engine face to the next pulley, if that pulley is smooth on the round part, then that means that the outside of the serpentine belt goes there, if it is grooved, then the inside of the serpentine belt goes there. and follow the path around the clock (so to speak ) for each path.

Some parts dealers will show you the diagrams for your vehicle, but some won't. the diagram(s) MAY be in your owners manual.
good luck.

I believe I had a pulley fall on that the serpentine belt goes on. The car is a 2000 chevy silverado. The belt is real loose and when I checked it seems there is no pulley on the passenger side at the top....

Sounds like you tesioner failed look for an arm that might have had a pulley on it if it has a 1/2 or 3/8 square hole in it your tensioner lost its pulley. they are available at parts stores and are pretty easy to replace just be sure to double check the belt diagram under the hood to be sure everything is in place.
