SOURCE: 98 vw cabrio need to replace window regulator

THis is common Too common. As I posted before.

As I posted in the Passat questions.

The jetta may slightly differ.

Yes. If your window has fallen down and will not roll up.
99% Chance you car is suffering the Infamous VW plastic clip.

The door panel comes off With a T-10 torx or a Hex (Allen) wrench
that will fit and A large Philips Screw Driver..

Remove the Plastic cover on the inside Door handle.
And the Screw or Screw along the Bottom of the door panel.
Then remove the screws that hold the handle the the door.
They are located behind the Plastic plate you removed with a tiny screw driver earlier... Be careful not the mark up the cover whaytprying it up. It is best to pry from underneath. Where marks if made can not be seen

After the screws are out 4 I believe. The Use of a CLip tool ir best.
For getting behind the panel to pop it off. A screw driver will work.

After all the clips are released. Pull the light at the bottom of the panel down and out. Disconnect it ur push it back thought the hole it came from..

Now you need a 10mm socket, or wrench to remove the 12 bolts that hold the metal plate to the Door. Remove all the 10mm bolts, If the widow has not already fallen in the door. It should be released. By removing the Black 2" plugs. THe loosen the bolts that clamp the window the the arms. DO NOT LOOSEN THEM ALL the way, .
Disconect the all the wiring.. THe Door lock cable, can be a pain.
I think it pulls down,.
Next remove the Metal plate. that is the regulator.

reverse to install

How can i disconnect car alarm on a 2000 volkswagon cabrio

On a 2000 VW cabrio, MAKE SURE your alarm system is disengaged (running the car and turning it off is one of the easiest methods to make sure you can remove the alarm and start your vehicle after you remove the control boxes.

look for the fuse box near you left knee, directly above the fuse box panel in a vertical manner, deep in the dash, is the control boxes for the alarm (they are not easy to reach, expect fustration but you can get to them from there). If I correctly remember, a rectangular silver box and a square black box will do the trick. Remove the three harnesses to the boxes and your nightmare is over.

Need diagram of fuses for 2002 vw cabrio and what number is for the fuel pump relay?

VW does not supply free owners manual downloads, so we have no fuse box diagrams. You can purchase the owners manual from the dealer.

The catch on the glove box lid on a vw golf 2001 is broken how do i fix it?

You need to replace the whole glove box door. Pry the panel on the right side of the dash off, remove the t25 screw, remove the 3 t20 screws along the bottom of the glove box, and the t20 screws that you can see inside the glove box. This will loosen it enough to pull the whole glove box loose. Then you need to remove the damper by prying the little plastic pin out. Then remove the bracket it secures to that has a t20 screw in it. There are 2 plastic pins in the hinges that need to be popped out, once this is done, the door will come off. Reassembly is the reverse.
If the pins are difficult to reinstall, file the new glove box door hinge holes with a round file. I usually shoot a little oil into the damper too, just to make operation easier.
