SOURCE: In my 2003 Chevy Avalanche the oil pressure gauge

the sensor is located at the back of the top of the engine, behind the distributor. Could be the sensor or the gauge itself. Probably the sensor stuck.

SOURCE: Where is oil sending unit on 2003 Chevy Avalanche

It's at the very back of the block, top-center, under the intake manifold.

SOURCE: what should the oil pressure be for a 2007 chevy

Start up with the engine cold, should be 60-65 psi Start up with engine hot and also running in gear idling 42-48psi
Any other readings could be a bad oil pressure sending unit or a oil pressure relieve valve which is located on the block where the remote oil line is bolted to. Good luck and keep me posted.

SOURCE: '07 Avalanche LTZ says low oils pressure turn off

The oil pressure gauge on my 2007 Avalanche reads 0 and activates low oil pressure warning. Oil level is OK and engine does not sound like one with with no oil pressure; AKA no knocks or ticking

since you have no noises or ticking at all, you likely have a failed oil pressure sender/sensor. It is located right behind the intake on the driver side on the back of the motor. You are "supposed" to remove the intake to gain access to it (and it is much easier to get to), but you can remove it with a short oil pressure sender socket and a swivel adapter... its close but it comes out.

How do I change the oil pressure sensor on 2007 Avalance

On both the V6 and V8 engines the Oil Sensor is located on top of the engine at the rear. You will need to remove the top of the intake manifold to get to it.

Most off the time it is near the oil filter

Oil pressure light flickers from 0 to max when engine is running -runs fine and oil level is ok

It's either the sender that's on the rear of the block behind the intake manifold, or a bad connection to it.

I have a 2007 chevrolet avalanche LT and everytime im driving it after a couple kms it will say low oil pressure turn off engine????

Hello: What weight oil is in the engine? How many miles since last oil change? How many miles on truck? The first thing you could do is replace the oil pressure sensor. You will have to remove the intake manifold to gain access to the oil pressure sensor. If the engine is not knocking or there isn't any valve train noise then it could be the oil pressure sensor when this message is displayed.
