I am trying to replace the rotors on a 2007 Rio. There are two screws that need to come out, but are so tight I can't loosen them with an impact drill. What can I do?

You will need an impact driver to get that screw out, if it won't come out with an ordinary screwdriver. Alternatively, you can also get the screw loosened a bit with a hammer and a chisel as well.
its like the old gm top bolt loosen and the bottom bolt loosen then in the back of the pump you can pry with a bar or if the bolt is there you tighten it in to tighten the belt then you tighten all the other bolts after the belt is tight
A large breaker bar and deep well socket is required to get the axle nut off. They are torqued down very tight-about 150 ft. lbs. Easier to loosen the nut sith the car and wheel on the ground, then you can raise the car, remove wheel, remove the nut and washer, and get to the rotor.
The two mounting bolts are installed with Lock tight sealer. Use a 6 pointed boxed end wrench and a hammer on the two bolts. Hit the wrench hard to loosen these bolts up. An impact wrench is much easier to use
hi from uk the retain screws are for holding the rotor/disc in position so when wheel bolts are removed they can be easily refitted as rotor will not move off line the screws play no part in brakes and the wheel bolts or nuts are what secure the wheels and rotors in place SO if screw head has stripped ? you can use a drill with bit size of head of screw and drill the head off screw then remove rotor you can then try vice grips to remove screw but if not possible you can fit rotor and reassemble brakes hope this helps
just normal metric tools. the one snag is the screw that hold the rotors on. they are #3 phillps head screws that are usually TIGHT and you may need a impact driver to get them loose, dont be surprised if you break a bit off in the screw head. most people dont put them back in when doing a brake job.
your rotors are only held on by your brake calipar and wheel when its on..they get rusted on remove wheel break calipar and the rotor should come off use a rubber mallet and beat on rear side and itll pop off.
I've been working on Honda's like this for years, including my own, and there are two ways that you can get the screw out. The easiest/best way to do it is with an impact driver and the biggest phillips screwdriver bit you can find (sorry can't remember the number, I think #4 but not sure). Once you have the bit you are good to go and your impact wrench will do the work for you. If you don't have an impact wrench the other way I've learned to do it is by taking a small (12" section) of rebar and a mini sledge hammer and put the rebar directly on the screw (make sure it is straight) and hit it with the hammer. Make sure you hit the rebar and not the car or yourself. You are probably going to have to hit this really hard to break it loose (you can try penetrating oil, not WD-40, along with this method). After you beat the screws for a while, you are going to need the biggest phillps screwdrive you can find, again not sure what size, and you will be able to get this out. If you have started to strip the screws you need to be very careful and if you aren't sure you can get them out without stripping them I might take it to a mechanic and have them loosen them up for you. Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks for using FixYa!
you turn them left to loosen and a little bit of heat is the best way to get them loose and when you put it back together make sure to put anti seize on them
You need an impact screwdriver. You should be able to pick up a cheap one from your local parts store. You hit the impact screwdriver with a hammer and it forces the screwdriver bit to turn. But make sure you are using the correct size bit, or youll strip the screws and itll be a pain to get them out.
