Lower Glove Box Won't Close

I had the same problem. Turned out that the glove box light cover fell of and fell into the works of the door. To fix, open glove box door and push onto the sides so that it opens all of the way. look in the bottom track for obstruction (lamp cover). Remove obstruction and close glove box.

I fixed this in a 2010 Rav4 by lowering the glovebox all the way and finding that the cover to the cabin air filter had fallen off and was jamming the hinge of the glove box. To lower the glove box, pull the glove box side walls inward until the lock tabs clear the sides of the opening and you can rotate it all the way down. Clear whatever is jamming the hinge and rotate the glove box back into position. Be sure the hinge is pushed all the way forward onto the corresponding pin before closing the glove box, otherwise there will be misalignment. There is also a plastic air piston on the right side of the glove box assembly that damps the movement of the glove box. Be sure the piston assembly is secured into the two corresponding locking pins (one on the glove box, the other on the glove box opening) before closing the glove box.

SOURCE: The lower glove box on my 2009 Rav4 won't close.

I had the same problem with my 2009 RAV4 lower glove box. I removed the box by popping the top front right post and then the top left front post from theside housings by prying them free with my fingers. They pop out easily. I then let the box fall open and while holding it level to the floor, pulled forward, released the piston from the post on the right, and the glove compartment came out without tools. There was a plastic electrical box cover, which came loose behind the glove box, blocking it from closing. I snapped the cover plate back in place and then reversed the glove box removal process. It took a few minutes and I needed no tools.

SOURCE: van is leaking on the inside passanger front , under the glove bo

The drain that channels the condensation from the air conditioning system out onto the ground is most likely plugged, which backs it up onto the passenger side front floor. Clearing the drain should take care of it. Probably need to take it to someone who works on A/C or a dealer, relatively simple maintenance. If the moisture gets under the carpet, the musty smell will never leave, so take care of it promptly!

2009 toyota corrolla glove box wont close

First thing is first, remove the lightbulb in your glovebox before you kill your battery. On the door of the glovebox, where it locks onto the piece sticking out of the glovebox, wiggle that whole piece, and see if it's loose. If it is, take a screwdriver, and tighten it. It may have just loosened itself from regular use. If it's loose, it won't lock onto the piece because it's just moving up or down when you try to slam it shut. Hopefully this works! Either that, or go to a junk yard, and get that peice out of another car. Simple fix for little money.

On my 2005 chevrolet cobalt 2.2L engine where dose the carbond fliter go

The carbon air filter (ACDelco filter 52493319) is located behind the glove box. To change your filter:
    1. Open the glove box
    2. Push in the stops (tabs) with rubber bumpers on either side of the glove box
    3. Lower the glove box down until stopped by the retractable string
    4. Slide the retainer for the string up and out of the whole (it's okay to let it retract back in the dash)
    5. Lower the glove box down the rest of the way
    6. Release the three tabs covering the filter door (you should see a Delphi sticker just below the tabs)
    7. Flip the door down
    8. Pull out the old filter (note the direction of the air flow is DOWN)
    9. Insert the new filter
    10. Reassemble

Fuse box locations on a 2006 jeep wrangler 4.0 6speed manual

To access the fuse panel the glove box must be removed. It is removed by slipping the glove box strap off the hook and letting the door roll down off its hinges. To reinstall, position the glove box door at an 8 o’clock orientation, engage the hinge hook formations on the lower edge of the glove box door with the hinge pins on the lower edge of the instrument panel. Tilt the upper edge of the glove box door upward toward the instrument panel enough to reattach the glove box strap to the door. Rotate glove box door to closed position. Open and close to insure proper installation.

How can I chage the A/C filter on Accent 2007?

Remove the Phillips-head screws and the 10mm bolts that attach the glove box insert to the dash. Pull the release tabs on the glove box door travel stops and release the glove box door from the glove box. Slide the glove box insert out. Remove the lower dash trim panel on the passenger side of the dashboard.Remove the old HEPA filter by depressing the locking tabs on the filter cover located on the front of the plastic evaporator case located directly behind the glove box. Then slide the filter carefully, out and down, to prevent knocking the dust that has been captured by the filter into the evaporator case or onto the carpet.Install the new filter by sliding the new filter into the evaporator case. The new filter is labeled to indicate the direction it should be installed into the evaporator. Push it completely into the case, and close the cover until the latches snap into place.Reinstall the glove box insert and attach it to the dashboard using the original screws and bolts. Insert the door travel stops into their slots and push the door closed. The stops will automatically snap into place. Reinstall the lower dashboard trim to complete the project.

Hi, I was wondering if I can fix the loud noise with my fan. It is getting louder and louder. 2005 Camry LE.

I would suggest to you to remove the lower cover, under the glove box, and then the glove box door. Next, remove the 3 screws that holds the heater fan motor to the heater box. Then, lower the fan motor out of the box area. You will probably find some debris in the fan part of the motor./fan assembly. If you car has a cabin air filter, I would also recommend that you change it at this time, whilst you have the cover off. This is a very easy job.
