If you can manually get them to work by pressing the turn signal up or down, that mrams it is probably a flasher.
There are 2 flashers located where your fuse box is, under the dash, to the left, probably.
The flashers are generally round, and one controls your turn signals and one controls your flashers. I can't tell you which one it is, but if you put your flashers on, and pull one and your flashers stay on, you have right one. Also, if your flashers stay on, you can pull that one and plug that one into the other ones spot as they are the same part.
it should be a part # 552, and are available at all parts stores. They should not be more than 4 or 5 $.
Good luck
SOURCE: Where is the turn signal flasher located
The flasher is located on the fuse block. The other thing that may be wrong could be the actuall switch for the turn signals which is located inside the steering coloum.
SOURCE: Both turn signals light, but do not blink
under the dash on the driver side there is a round or square sliver box that should say turn signal or flasher on it in the fuse box.

SOURCE: Hazard flashers do not work. Turn signals do.

Start by checking the fuses that's simple
than relay than bulbs
last you may have to remove the steering wheel and than replace the entire signal assembly those are pretty much all your options so start with 1 and work your way down the list
