From your description, you probably have a bad CV joint (constantly velocity). This allows you to turn the vehicle and allows for sispension travel,BUT, The front liveline is operating at obscure angles as well as pulling the vehicle which is why the CV joint is there. There is one on the outer side of the axle just before the hub and one just before the diffrential on each side. If the rubber boot is torn, the grease gets out and the bearing will get dry. You will hear the noise at first, only as you turn and it will get progressively worse. Most of my customers describe the problem as a "cracking" noise as they make turns. The outer joint would be my best guess. The cheapest and least frustrating way to do the repair would be , to buy a remaunfactured drive axle shaft. If the boot is torn on the other side, I would suggest doing them at the same time. Note you will notice the noise usually when you make tighter turns and it will get progressively worse!

the serrated inside the diffrential is getting old from the same lock inside the diffrential so there is now way to repair it the only way is the change the lock and the most helpful to get a air locker is much better

NO code ? the first thing is to make sure all the fuse are good, the next thing is to connect a scan tool and check for readings to speed sensors.

Some of these use the wheel speed sensors to control the speedo and abs , the speed sensors in the transmission are used to control gear shifting, make sure the wheel sensors are working, the most common problems are the wiring to the rear sensor and the rear sensor itself, check on the rear end on the top and make sure connection is good and maybe replace that sensor and see what happens, i have run into this problem a few time but some were diffrent. one was a bad rear speed sensor another one was the cluster and the last was the abs module.

I would start with checking all the fuses first, then move on to replacing the rear speed sensor located on the rear top of the diffrential . good day.

yes theres a seal from the axle shaft, but theres a also your brake cylinders. to find that you need to remove the tire and check the brakes or check the brake fluid reservoir for low fluid. either way you need to remove the tire. if its your axle seal then the pin theres pins on the actual differential to remove the axle shaft. a little more complicated. check the axle shaft to wear from the seal and bearings. also check the diffrential for a good level or you will loose the diffrential if you keep on running it. the level check is on a plug like half way that ususally removed by hand or a ratchet then stick your finger and if you dont feel it put oil on,. the proper oil level is when you can feel the oil with out sticking in a rod or stick in there. hope this helps

Possibly a dry or worn U-joint. It's not going to get any better and needs to repaired ASAP.

First , put it in 4wd with the dash switch then try to move as its unlikely to have busted both diffs .If it moves then the rear diff is busted .

Most likely is the Dual mass flywheel has broke so you got no drive from the engine to the gearbox.Thats a gearbox out repair and a repair job .

We have the same problem at our shop. We haven't rebuilt the front differential yet. We tried 3 different shafts on 2 different Jeeps and the noise is on both just the same. By greasing the front driveshaft cv joint, we got he noise to quiet some, but it is still way to loud. With the driveshaft out, the noise is gone. We are about to buy a new shaft from the dealer for $600. There are some service bulletins about some noisy driveshafts.

our rucks are blessed with an open diffrential. some times even a 4x4 can get stuck becuse of the uneven distribution of drive force through the open diff.. I have a 4x2 and i gave my self a little more off road confidence by installing a track locker in place of the open diff.. it is an easy remove and replace if you follow the instructions. it does have a few draw backs.
