How to reset remote alarm on 2005 malibu - 2005 Chevrolet Chevrolet Malibu LS

To remote start: Press Lock briefly and then hold down arrow key. (Remote start button is key that looks like an arrow going in a circle) Any other combination can set off alarm or panic feature.

the alarm module is uderthehood in a black square box pull the fuse look atdiagram on fuse box carefully

What about the alarm system on a 2005 chevy malibu-if I change the radio will the alarm system still work?

IS THERE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON? if so this disables remote start. and is remote start turned on in the options menu? does it do anything? lights blink

hold the lock and unlock button same time for 1 minute then reset maybe tad bit longer time

You can put in a new cd player with the controls for the onboard info center with this dashkit.

the remote has lost the memory and must be program . Replace the battery in the remote.

i hav same problem chaged battery noticed battery holder was loose so i soldered it very carefully everything works fine xcept remote start alarm just goes off like when you push the panic button not sure what happened dont think i shorted out the circuit board in the fob if engine light is on this car wont start via remote these remotes must b progamed by dealer or pro shop prob using what they call a tech II computer to remote start you hav to press lock button 1st even if car is already locked i figured this out pess and hold lock button then press start alarm dont ring and the car starts.

had very similar problems with a Hyundai coupe , turned out to be the central locking control mechanism , this is usually the drivers door lock unit inside drivers door , this controls the locking system and so also interior lights as if having used remote etc,hope this helps
