Question about 1989 Ford F 150
this This is what you have to do.Go to the hardware store and get a spring just like in the pic maybe smaller. Put the bottom side just like in the pic and the top side of the spring on the door cilynder. And you are done.

with out the right tools it will be verry hard also you can break your glass or knock a lock rod off.
THE best way to do this is if you have power locks find somthing you can use as a wedge EXAMPLE;screw driver.place the wedge between the dood and the car you may have to pry it open a little. now get a coat hanger and push the power lock button.

aaa should fix it.but if you don't want to go that way .then it may have just came off you wont know four sure until you git into it and see

slide the hook towards the door jamb come half way up the window and tilt end inside window towards locking device and pull

Sticking a slim jim down the window most of the time just ends up tearing up the wires. Pros pry at the top of the door just enough to get a wire or better yet a metal yard stick (or similar) to push the door lock switch. Using the wrong tools or prying to much can do damage to the car door. A second person to pry or "fish" Is very helpful.
