How do I clear the codes for my1991 Oldsmobile 88 royal. I had to change the etc 41 sensor & the mass air sensor. Now I need to clear them and don't know how

Disconnecting the battery for a couple minutes should do it on pre OBD cars that came about in '96. I've learned odd tricks such as turning the key three times or othters involving the trippometer to pull codes from various late model or post '96 OBD cars but know of no procedure for your '91

THIS HAS LED TO AN ALTERNATIVE FOR HIGH SPEED AND LOW SPEED AND ARE LOCATED REAR OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT leaft I recommend you CHECK IF YOU GET THE LED NEGATIVE AND THAT THIS COMING FROM PCM.THANKS

Personal experience between 13 - 20 for most models with the v-6 and v-8. the 5.7l is about the most fuel efficient at roughly 17

Check the Mass Air Flow Sensor, you can get a can of cleaner specific for cleaning them for a couple bucks at the parts store. I'd just get 1 and clean the sensor see if that works. The MAF sensor is either in the throttle body itself (bolted on from the outside or in the air line between the filter and throttle body. That could be the whole problem right there. Good luck.

The junk yard is not the best option, but is certainly can work. The best option is a new component, from aftermarket parts store.

Check for a vacuum leak. 13 is oxygen? If so, it may be a leak. If not, it may be a bad plug. Have you changed anything? Tried to get a code?

I just bought a 1990 Oldsmobile 88 royale, and it needs to pass emissions, I changed oil, oil filter, spark plugs, wires, gas filter, air filter, and the light still on what that migth be.
O2 sensor most likely as the check engine light has only to do with emissions.

Bucking engine
Check the fuel pressure,also change the fuel filter.check the crankshaft sensor,or replace.It sounds more like the tps sensor(throttle position sensor).It is mounted in line with the throttle axle,on the throttle horn.Of course .with out being there and checking I am just guessing.But map sensor or mass air flow sensor could also cause this.Have you checked the air filter?This will cause the problem,if it is stopped up restricting air flow to engine and mass air flow.,map sensor,and vacuums needed to run the car.If I can help,let me know.

41 is cam sensor code. are you sure the magnet is still in the cam gear? use only quality parts. if the magnet is missing, you need to replace the timing gears/chain.

Try turning the key to the on postion-not crank, just to he postion right before cranking. leave it in that postion for 15 min, Do this three and after the third time go ahead an try to start it. Hopefully this will reset your security for you.
