We tried pulling it out, made sure the car was on park but it doesn't move.
Is your vehicle part of that major recall for GM?
Hi,in the past to remove the inside of the barral I used to use a slide-hammer,I dont know if you have ever used one before but you just screw it into the ignition and slide the hammer and the ignition will come out,then you can undo ignition and replace.
or get a locksmith out.

make sure to check your fuses and ground wires first. when you are set on which part is bad do a quick check of everything else before you jump into it.

try wd40 and shaking the key, what happens is one of the tumblers get stuck and wont let the key turn if that dosnt work let me know worst case you will have to replace the ignition its about $35 to $40 and a few hours.

Im thinking your going to be ok as far as warranty repair,if your dealers service dept is insensitive, call Saturn assist @ 1.800.553.6000 On to the ignition switch ....separate colum halves with #2 screwdriver> access ignition housing and look for trip slot on top side of cylinder>use pocket size screwdriver to trip button in slot while in ACC position and pull out...good luck

Put some pressure on the steering wheel in one direction or the other this may take the pressure off the cylinder itself and allow you to do what is needed...hope this works.
