It sounds like you've either blown a fuse or a circuit breaker. I think the power windows for the 1997 Grand Am are on a 30 amp circuit breaker located next to the fuse array in the fuse box. Look for a breaker labeled WDO. To reset the circuit breaker you may need to push it to the off position before you can return it to the on position. I believe the fuse box is located behind the glove compartment but if you don't find it there you can consult your owner's manual.

Reset battery first, then take to your dealer if there is still a problem.

This part of wiring diagram for power windows. The circuit breaker on the right. The fuse on the left. Check them both. Use a test light to check voltage on circuit. Voltage to the circuit breaker is hot all the time. Voltage to the fuse goes hot with key on. Fixing one component may or may not fix some of the others?

My driver side window stopped working. I had the window resetter ( or something like that) fixed cause my window fell in the door. After that it sounded like something was dragging against the glass when...

sounds like the power window motor has failed. You can get this part with or without the window regulator. It's like $20 cheaper to get the motor without the regulator but way more complicated to replace. If you heard a rubbing sound after the first time something could have been left untightened. If it hasn't been too long maybe they will warranty it for you, but the part at your local store was less than $100 when I did one a coupkle of months ago.

2006 chrysler town and country passenger side window suddenly stopped working.
other windows work, sliding doors work as does rear hatchback.
fuses seem to be good.
might there be a safety switch that somehow got pushed that keeps the passenger window from opening?

Drivers window stops working

I have had the same issues with both power windows. The issue is the window gets stuck in the up position usually because of holding the up button too long. In all cases I have taken the door panel off loosened the window motor screws which takes the pressure off the internal gear drive of the motor, put it all back together and it works until someone holds the button too long again. I have done this 4 times and each time it fixed the problem. I guarantee the dealers know of this problem and I suspect that they fix it the same way and tell you that they changed the drive motor.
