On my dash of my 2012 sonic LS where it shows milage etc....starting my car it says code 82 and i have to hit trip milage reset to get all the information showing again

Code 82 is change oil soon. If you have just changed the oil or go have it changed somewhere then you can clear it, but DO NOT simply clear it WITHOUT changing your oil and filter! Never neglect regular oil changes. $20 isn't going to break the bank. It will go a long way to ensure your engine will operate for as many years as possible. To clear the change oil code turn your car on, but leave it in park. Push the menu button until you see oil life in your DIC. Push and hold the reset button.

My kdc138 flashes ocer its so cheap no one would steal it my bat was disconnected during service now it just flashes.

If the batt was disconnected the radio probably needs a pass code to reset it. Do you have it? If not go online to sites that sell pass codes for radio's. Find your make/model/serial number and see if anyone carries the code.

I Purchased an OBD2 meter. I connect meter to

You have a generic code reader
everyone needs one

You can not how ever get MFG Codes
only those starting with PO

You should have instructions with it
You usually only have 2 buttons

One button cycles thru data & the
other clears or resets the MIL Lamps

Turn key on & write down any codes,
as you push the left button ,I believe
to cycle thru them

Then start engine & see if they are still there
& the same

Then use the other button to clear them
& road test,to see what comes back

The manual won't help much

Give me the codes or look on the
internet. Just put OBD2 & the code #
in search engine.

Can i recive codes from my climate contral panel on a 1996 caddy

To check the computer for CODES:
1. Ignition switch ON. Engine OFF
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them
3. See if you get codes such as AC1347 or AC1348 or some other LETTER/NUMBER combination display on the fuel data display along with HISTORY or CURRENT with each code or codes that display...
- AC1312 = AC high side temp sensor has an open circuit.
- AC1314 = Evaporator inlet temp sensor has an open circuit.
- AC1348 = Very low AC refrigerant condition.

Try addind about 1/2 can of freon to the system and see if the compressor engages. If not, you will need to perform some diagnostic tests on the above codes. I can e-mail you the pictures and directives on how to fix the codes, But first you need to clear (ERASE) the codes from the computer and see which codes return as current or history codes which should display just after each code.

4. After the code or codes display you will see PCM?
5. Turn ignition OFF.

To clear the codes:
1. Re-enetr diagnostics like you did before and when you see PCM?
2. Push and release the LO button and you will see IPC?.
3. Push and release the LO button and you will see ACM?.
4. Push and release the HI button and you will see ACM CODES?
5. Push and release the LO button and you will see ACM CLEAR CODES?
6. Push and release the HI button and you will see ACM CODES CLEAR.
7. Turn OFF ignition key and wait 2 minutes and re-enter diagnostics like I told you in the previous e-mail and let me know what codes appear and if they are CURRENT or HISTORY.

Hope helped.

I have 3 ipc codes what does ipc stand for 98 cadillac eldorado

IPC stands for Instrument panel control, here is a typical code repair flow chart, this is for example only and has nothing to do with your car..
P083 = 24x signal high.

P107 = Instrument panel control )IPC) to computer (PCM) data problem.

P137 = Loss of Automatic braking system (ABS) to Traction control system (TCS).

What you need to do is CLEAR all these codes from the computer and see which ones return.

Perform this test.

1. Ignition key ON. Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER (^) buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

3. Diagnostic codes such as above will appear with the word HISTORY or CURRENT for each code.

4. The codes will stop when you see PCM?

5. Push and release the HI(^) button and you will see PCM DATA?

6. Push and release the LO(v) button and you will see PCM DATA?

7. Continue to push and release the LO (v) button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

8. Push and release the HI(^) button until you see PCM CODES CLEAR.

9. Turn OFF the ignition and wait 3 minutes and try and start the car. If the car starts and the light comes back ON, Turn OFF the car and repeat steps 1 thru 3 and let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

10. When you see PCM?, Turn OFF ignition key.

11. Let me know what codes you get and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.
