The sound you are hearing is the pump running out of oil. if you continue to run the engine without power steering fluid you will damage the pump. the best thing to do is to top up the power steering fluid and have the leak fixed as soon as possible. paul

Toggling noise and feel in steering

I would recommend checking the steering system just to double check there is no slow leaks occurring,if all appears to be ok .
I would say you have an air lock in the steering system.

2003 voyager makes clunking sound during turns

Hi!

If the clunking sound is heard when the steering wheel is turned regardless of if the car is standing still or moving, then the bearing on top of the spring is stuck or damaged. A good way to find out what's making a noise is to put a screwdriver to it and place your ear to the screwdriver. In this case it will probably even suffice to just put a finger on the spring and you'll feel the clunks as someone turns the steering wheel for you. Just watch your arms and fingers, though!

There is a noise coming from the right-front wheel area during a left turn. It almost sounds like a tire-rub on the inner wheel-well cover, but it also makes this same noise when stationary while turning...

I had this same problem and the dealer could not reproduce the noise when I would take it in to get looked at. (during the day when the temperature was warm) So I decided to leave it over night and they test drove it in the morning when the temperature was cold and they heard the noise. It ended up bing the steering rack.

Hello everyone, got a general knowleadge car question. When you have the car in gear in an automatic transmission, an you start turning the steering wheel while stationary you hear a sound almost sounds...

If I understand you corretly, when you start turning the wheel, the engine speed increases slightly making the car want to move forward.

Yes, this is normal and a part of the power steering system to prevent belt squeal from dropping the RPM's on the engine quickly and allowing more RPM for providing the necessary torque required by the Power Steering system. It is not causing damage.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Oil pressurer loss ford bronco2

It's normal for the oil pressure to fall off at idle as it gets warmer because the oil gets thinner. It should operate between about 20 and 60 lbs. If it drops below 10 lbs at hot idle, you may have some bearing wear or a worn pump.
