My daughters wipers just stopped working on her 2008 Jetta Volkswagen. I noticed when I turn the key on and move the lever up or down I hear a slight clicking sound somewhere around the steering wheel. I'm trying to troubleshoot and figure out what the problem is. Can you help?

Let's keep it simple check fuses and relays by swapping around the relays in the fuse box. IF THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM . Most of the vehicle'll especially havea multifunction switch operating turn signals wipers headlights. If it goes bad you will hear clicking and grinding in the steering column it's just plastic junk made to go bad. Replacing will require removal of steering wheel and removing wire harness attached to switch which should run down your column if you are not comfortable with this take it to a dealer. Hope this helps

SOURCE: 2000 jetta need to remove steering wheel

This is not an easy procedure, especially since you've never done it before. With the wheels in the straight ahead position, look at the back of the steering wheel, you'll see two holes. One at 9 o'clock and one at 3 o'clock. You stick a small flat blade screwdriver in the first hole and you pry on the retaining spring while gently pulling on the airbag until it releases. Repeat on the other side. I'm a professional mechanic and the first time I did it, it took me over a half hour to figure it out. Now I can do it in less than a minute. Might want to take it to the dealer.

There is a power steering stop leak fluid that some auto part stores have, if it is a small leak, a big leak you will have to replace what ever is leaking.

SOURCE: 97 Jetta GLS - Horn honks when I turn the wheel to the left

sounds like there is something in the wrong place in the horn button. it makes contact when you turn left just as if you had pushed the horn button. i wonder does your airbag light ever come on, i mean not just in the startup sequence, that's normal. probably you need to take the horn button part of the steering wheel apart and get things back in the right place or maybe replace some parts, but because of the airbag being right there too it's not something i would recommend that you do yourself. accidentally setting off an airbag is not a good thing.

2008 Volkswagen Jetta with a 2.5. Where is the fan relay (not the control module) on it please?

Truly a ridiculous amount of electronics in this vehicle. Lots of fuses and modules for radiator cooling, but no relay. That means it is a function of the ECM and the 'modules'.

In earlier models it is located under the coolant reservoir. Videos in the link.

My shift lever will not move from park even afetr appling the brakes

There is a little black cap beside the shifter, you can't miss it. Pop the cap off with your key, and inside there will be a button, push that button down and hold it there, with the brakes applied. Now the shifter will work.

Your wiper linkage has come off the wiper motor. To reconnect the linkage, first remove the wiped arms, the remove the wiped cowl. The wiper cowl bolts are located under the hood and screws through the spaces in the cowl. Reconnect linkage, reinstall cowl, reinstall wiped arms.

On this1997 vw jetta gt....the wiper arm on the left side doesnt move. but the right side wiper arm does question how do i repair it thank you

take both wipers arms off carefully and remove grill under the arms .I think there is 6 screws. then you can see what parts are not working.Wiper arm removel is the key..some are fastened with a nut ,but the other way is to take a screwdriver to the tab at the base . you must pull wiper away from window and pry tab over when tab moves ,let the wiper back to the window, and notice wiper will not return all the way. that means you have released wiper arm and it will wiggle off. to reinstall pull arm back and push the tab back in place

My automatice wiper won't turn off on thier own

It has auto wiper control. Yank your wiper stick 1 notch down. The windshield should be free of rain droplets or else it would think it is still raining and operate it in auto mode. In auto mode it will shut off when it doesn't sense rain droplets on the windshield or removing the key from the ignition. Once it is off, it can only operate in auto mode by moving the lever 1 notch up while raining. Yours must be in the 1st speed manual selected position of the lever. Every time the ignition is switched on the wiper operates regardless until key is removed from the switch.

Wipers stopped working, but can still hear the

Hey,
The earing that connects the wiper arm to the motor is ground down. You need to replace the wiper arms or the motor depending on which "gears" are ground down. The wiper motor is here:
