I have an LT 35 van that has injection problems, the van seems to miss, and engine management light will come on, can this be diagnosed on a diagnostic machine and will it tell me which injector is fa

Taking it to a garage where I was told that too many fault codes had appeared on the diagnostic machine. I would like to know if it can be detected whether the king pin alone is at fault or whether the other injectors are at fault?

Yes.. you can get an answer from the scaner that they plug under dashboard it probably will say I few codes but 1 of them it will say misfire and the number where you have the problem..
then you just look the diagram for the motor that you have.. and find the wire or spark plug that is damage.

My van starts great, when running it misses like crazy, my mechanic replaced distributor oil pressure gauge, still does it. The check engine light came on too

Have an auto parts store to read the error codes. It may help diagnose problems. I would guess you are not getting enough fuel after starting.

Jaguar x type fault code p0251 will not start

Well, let's see... Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0251 is defined by SAEJ2012 as "Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" (Cam/Rotor/Injector)"

I think that with that code, ESPECIALLY with an engine that will not start, the OBVIOUS next step would be to properly diagnose the injection pump fuel metering control system.
If that code is no longer there, it can only be a result of somebody clearing the computer memory...Which would be a BAD thing to do unless ALL of the freeze-frame data was recorded first. Clearing codes like that also erases the rest of the information about the fault and when it occured that a diagnosing technician needs to properly diagnose the fault. Oh, It can still be diagnosed, but the time required to do so may be multiplied several times.....It just means the bill will probably be much bigger.

DTC P1000 is only an informational code to let the technician know that there is one or more OBD readiness monitors that have not run and completed since the last time that the codes were cleared. If the codes have been cleared and the engine has not run several complete drive cycles since, that explains that one...

Fault code p2260 what is this

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P2260 has a standard definition of "Secondary Air Injection System Control "B" Circuit High"

This means that the secondary air injection system has a circuit malfunction that needs to be diagnosed. Your secondary air injection system pumps air into the exhaust system to provide extra oxygen in the exhaust so that any unburned hydrocarbons (gas) can continue to burn as it goes down the exhaust .

This problem can upset the expected/actual signal from the oxygen and/or air fuel sensors and can cause the engine to go into "failsafe", " reduced power" or "limp" mode depending on the strategy/wording used by the vehicle manufacturer. To put it simply, it can indirectly affect the way your engine is running, but not always.

Your engine may be running a lot richer (more fuel added) than you are used to. The failsafe or limp-in modes are usually pretty rich to ensure that the engine will have sufficient fuel to continue running. This could potentially cause the loss of power and possibly even the noise you are experiencing - but then again, maybe not. Again, depending on the manufacturers specific strategy for the particular vehicle.

My recommendation is to properly diagnose and repair the secondary air injection system and see if the other symptoms you are experiencing go away. If they do not, then they are obviously caused by some other problem that will also have to be diagnosed.

Service engine soon

Hi .
Your service engine soon is telling you you have a problem with the fuel injection system .
The management system has pick up a fault within the system that needs to be diagnosed, this is done with an OBDII diagnostic tool that most local Shops have and of cause your dealer .
Small example.

---------------------------------------------------------
Check engine light comes on when the engine management system has detected a problem with the emission system.(fuel injection).

When the light comes on the ECM will store a code or codes in its memory for the testing technician to retrieve and decode,

After decoding he will be able to see what problems you are having with the fuel injection system.

He
]9 will retrieve codes like P0300 or P1304 (example)

Code P0300 is a random misfire, from this he will see where and what he will have to diagnose .

If you are having a misfire then to long driving like this could cause catalytic converter damage ,

If you have a simple problem like a knock sensor then you could drive around with out to much problem.

Hope this has answered you question .
Kind regards Indy

Car runs rough and has no power, seems to be missing at idle and under throttle. Check engine light is on

check the battery then if low in electricity, then charge it if missing in Idle throttle then check and repair the fuel pump or carburetor assembly.when check engine lights on it means there is problem that is happening to the engine.like low fuel is going through the engine.and the power produced is less.

Van idle very shaking like the van is going to stall

Sounds similar to what I had. In my case, the problem was the coil block. Here is how I diagnosed my problem: First I pulled the codes from the car using a code reader: 2 codes were recorded corresponded to two misfires in cylinders. In my case, they were P0302 and P0306 which corresponded to misfires in cylindars 2 & 6. These cylinders have something in common: They use the same coil in the coil block mounted in the rear of the engine. (There are 3 coils in the block and 2 cylinders use one coil each). Everything is enclosed inside with resin. When removed the cowling from over the motor, I could access the coil block easily. (See other posts from me for more details). When the coil block was removed, I found a crack in the resin under the middle coil. Replacing the coil pack fixed my problem. Hope this helps.
