Can I program the car to recognixe the key fob.

1996 Roadmaster

Locate the programming connector located in the LH trunk. Trim may have to be pulled back to access programming connector. ( Connector has black/white wires leading up to it and it is not connected to anything.)
Jump programming connector terminals. Leave terminals jumped unitl step 6.
System should now lock and unlock doors to indicate programming mode has been entered.
Press any button on keyless remote once. System should now lock and unlock doors, indicating successful programming of keyless remote.
Repeat step 4 for additional remote or other existing keyless remote. NOTE: A maximum of only two Keyless Remotes can be programmed.
Remove programming connector jumper wire to exit programming mode.
Test remote(s).

hard to find anything similar but most other remote fob problems are resolved by changing the battery in the fob, let me know how you get on, have attached a link that may be of help if the new battery does'nt solve the issue

leave the key forward so dash lights are on for 10 min and then it should reset the security system and start up

Did you ever get this resolved? Looks like you didn't get any feedback here! I'm having the same issue sporadically. I turn the key and nothing. Usually if I keep trying it will eventually start cranking and start. Usually within 10 - 15 tries. happened last night. After it started, I got the "Service Security Key" message. I looked in the manual and it does say what that means. Don't know if it is programming (probably not because the fob works 97% of teh time) or maybe just a dying battery. If you can share anything you might have founf out I'd appreciate it! thanks!
