I installed a new battery in '07 Honda Ridgeline with reverse polarity. It arched and I think the starter was spinning and parking lights on. Did not start, had key in on position. reversed the cables

Looked at some fuses. Looked good.

I know this is a year late... but I was wondering what you ultimately found (ecu, ignition module?). I have decades of advanced electronic experience... going through schematic circuitry... I can find EXTREMELY Little that should not survive a simple POLARITY REVERSAL (only some rather unique POLAR CAPACITORS). If you could spare a moment it would be a perfect case to review. Thnx.

Have it checked out by an accredited auto electrician because reversing polarity can do damage to alternator , ECM and numerous other polarity sensitive items in the car.

You have done the worst thing possible.
It is very likely that you have blown up the diodes in the alternator and the power control module and I hate to say it but you have probably blown up the computer for the eng, If it arcs when you hook up correctly the alternatot is blown and you will have to unhook the plus wire from the back of the alternator and then hook the battery back up to see if the en, computer is blown or not. make sure that you tape the end of the wire you remove from alt, because it comes straight from the positive terminal of the battery and will short if it touches ground.

there are back lamps. and the park/dimmer lamp. and the LCD lamp

radios have 3 power sources (and 4th is ground)(
1: power. (makes the whole radio and all audio work)
2: park/dim (back ground lamps) turn up the dimmer knob.
3: memory. (stores station you like)

if all other inside park./dim lamps work (can be over 20)
and the radio lamps are dead, then they are burned out.

07 Honda Ridgeline Battery goes dead overnight - new battery

Thats probably your current drain.
See if you can find the relay and what it controls.
Pull it out and see if the current drain stops by using a test light between the battery and one of the cables.

One of the frame grounds on the headlight wiring harness is loosing connection with the body. Look for black wires attached to the body under the hook. One of them is loosing connection.

Truck has electrical power but won't turn over. I think I can hear the starter solenoid engaging. Not sure. where do I start trouble shooting?

Safety first!--Make sure you're in park & brake on-- Try shorting across the starter terminals with a screwdriver,if the bendix kicks in & nothing spins, remove the starter & put in bench vice ,(or hold down securely), & jump with cables.--REMEMBER POLARITY--If the starter spins you are in deep *******---something in the motor is probably locked up.(If the starter doesn't spin get a new one.)

2003 honda accord - starter does not make a sound when you turn the key. I have installed new battery and replaced the positive cable end. The head lights and all accessories work fine.

If the head lights and accessories work, your main fuse is good. Make sure your gear selector is all the way in the park park position. The gear indicator light should be illuminated. if the light doesn't illuminate in Park, but illuminates in the other gear positions the shift cable is out of adjustment. adjust the cable and recheck.
The next step would be to test the starter. Do this by first turning the ignition switch off. To be safe take the key out of the ignition. Unplug the small wire at the starter solenoid and take a jumper wire connected to the starter solenoid and touch it to the positive side of the battery (The battery should be connected to the vehicle).
-If the starter still doesn't operate. The starter is faulty and should be replaced.
-If the starter operates (spins), you have a starter circuit wiring issue. You'll have to do a series of pinpoint test to determine the fault. It could be a faulty ignition switch, starter cut relay, clutch pedal switch for manual trans. or a gear selector switch for an auto trans. or an open in the wiring harness to the starter. -hope this helps.

How do I install a new starter in a 93 Dodge Ram van B-250 8 cyl.

Park van so that you can safely access the starter. I use ramps under front wheels and put it in park and set the parking brakes. Disconnect positive battery cable at battery, disconnect starter battery cable and ignition wires from starter solenoid (remember terminal locations as these will attach to new starter solenoid). Remove old starter. Replace with new starter. Re-attach wiring in reverse order.

Reversed polarity on 2000 mazda millenuim, now my car wont start

if you are lucky, only the fusible link(in the fusebox in the engine bay) is blown. if you are not lucky, a whole lot of modules are blown, and this is really expensive.
